Summary: The Area Leader is responsible to oversee and direct production associates in the performance of their duties focusing on safety, quality, productivity and all company/regulatory policies and procedures

Keep direct reports focused and on task to meet department objectives Ensure daily pre-shift meetings and other communication tools are used effectively Carry out and implement the efficient utilization of all equipment and manpower Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function Communicate with Production Manager(s) about production concerns and provide status reports as appropriate Remove problems to ensure production requirements and customer demands are met Promote accountability by providing formal and informal performance feedback to associates; conduct formal performance evaluations that are tied to plant and company goals; utilize individual corrective action plans if necessary Provide training to associates, develop them through coaching and mentoring, and provide recognition when warranted Apply consistent and fair progressive discipline to associates when necessary and discuss such action with appropriate personnel Ensure all documentation is maintained, including associate documentation Lead the department in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles Use reasonable means to require all associates to comply with safety policies and rules and enforce through a system of effective accountability that may include progressive discipline Ensure associates have a workplace free from recognized hazards which are or may cause serious physical harm; must comply with Occupational Safety and Health standards applicable to Montezuma Manufacturing Assist in conducting accident/incident investigations and implement corrective action where necessary Conduct monthly safety inspections and implement corrective action where necessary Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey Follow and support Montezuma Manufacturing's and Magna's operating principles and display the company's core values on a regular and consistent basis

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills to conduct multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in computer operations, ability to grasp new software quickly
- Must exhibit high integrity, honesty and confidentiality
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift and crane certification
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, diagrams, requirements and business correspondences
- Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to remain positive even under pressure
- May be required to adjust shifts as necessary
