Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Field Sales & Case Support
- Provide technical expertise, advice, and guidance to Financial Representatives in corporate, bank, and large‑case markets.
- Consult on cases with Financial Representatives, clients, and third‑party advisors to support NM's presence in executive benefits and large‑case life insurance.
- Produce customized, in‑depth illustrations based on thorough review of prospect and case data.
- Conduct financial reviews of business clients to inform plan design and recommendations.
Subject‑Matter Contribution
- Serve as a resource to Home Office partners on nonqualified/qualified plans and corporate/bank market life insurance.
- Contribute specialized knowledge (e.g., accounting) to support executive benefit and large‑case opportunities.
- Stay current on market, legal, and regulatory developments that affect plan design, marketing, and sales.
- Provide technical input to Compliance and consult with other departments on special projects and new product efforts.
Systems & Process Support
- Partner with CDX on the design, implementation, and enhancement of systems used for selling and servicing nonqualified benefit plans.
- Collaborate with CDX and Advanced Markets Operations on NGIS/NM Executive Benefit Software and related service support systems.
- Act as a liaison with Underwriting and Actuarial to coordinate underwriting requirements and plan design for large nonqualified cases.
- Analyze business/system challenges, define scope and requirements, and recommend enhancements to new or existing processes.
- Assist IS in resolving complex technical environment issues and supporting implementations.
- Challenge legacy processes and clearly articulate the benefits of improvements.
Training, Enablement & Collaboration
- Help design and deliver training for Executive Benefits software/NGIS; teach or co‑teach at the Executive Benefits Seminar and other NM schools (e.g., Business Markets School, Advanced Sales Presentation School).
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, operating/service areas, and Field partners to build technical and product capability.
- Complete assigned departmental projects and coordinate small initiatives across teams as needed.
- Build strong relationships with business clients and Field partners; communicate and negotiate to align expectations, build consensus, and influence change.
- Represent Specialty Markets in the VP's or Director's absence as requested.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services with understanding of the sales cycle, insurance products, and financial planning; prior NM Financial Representative experience is a plus.
- FINRA Series 6 (or ability to obtain within three months of hire).
- Strong consulting and presentation skills with the ability to explain financial and insurance concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory policies; solid knowledge of markets, insurance, economics, and financial planning.
- Demonstrated team collaboration and the ability to influence and persuade effectively.
