Partner with the best

In this role, you will be the customers' trusted advisor and technical expert. Collaborating with sales partners, you'll facilitate product adoption and account growth with a winning mindset for Akamai and our customers.

As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
  • Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
  • Turning customer goals into scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures, driving successful deployments and industry-leading best practices.
  • Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos, Customer Analysis Reports (CAR's) and Proof of Concepts (POC's).
  • Maximizing customer satisfaction, retention, and growth based on the customer's needs and business requirements.
  • Guiding customers through design and validation using Akamai's portfolio: Web Application Firewall, API security, Bot Management and Zero Trust solutions.
  • Demonstrating how Akamai solutions integrate with AI-driven workflows, automation frameworks, and modern DevOps tool chains.
  • Advising customers on safe and efficient adoption of AI-powered features within Akamai's platform.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5yrs experience and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or another related field
  • Demonstrate understanding of the internet, including but not limited to technologies like DNS, HTTP(S), APIs
  • Have experience or an interest in working with CDN architecture, Cybersecurity, AI, SEO, and Dev Ops
  • Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences.
  • Work fluidly within account teams, but also cross-functionally across organizations, such as Sales, Services, and Product Management.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $100,700 - $181,300/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
