The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm's data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm's commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within AMDP Data Platform Engineering and Chief Data & Analytics Office, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Collaborates with a global set of stakeholders and developers to understand Platform Infrastructure requirements and then implement them.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Develops collaborative relationships with local and remote Application Development Teams and a Global Platform Engineering Organization.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability within a globally distributed team.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more language(s) including Python, GoLang, Terraform HCL
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle including appropriate CI/CD Tooling Strategies.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Experience of "Infrastructure as Code" Providers e.g. Terraform, and their usage to provision infrastructure across different Operating Environments e.g. On Premise and Cloud.
  • Experience operating Kubernetes Clusters through the development, testing and production lifecycles including the investigation of Software Deployment Problems within the cluster.
  • Experience optimizing for cost in public cloud solutions, designing systems that provide insights to drive a cost optimized architecture.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Developing Automated Solutions using Python
  • Experience running infrastructure on AWS Cloud.
  • Experience in Cost Optimization on AWS.
