- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience developing backend software.
- Experience building services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing, building, and consuming APIs, including RESTful services.
- Understanding of microservices and distributed systems fundamentals, including retries, timeouts, idempotency, and partial failures.
- Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases and an understanding of data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services or a comparable cloud platform.
- Familiarity with asynchronous messaging and event-driven systems.
- Experience writing automated unit and integration tests.
- Familiarity with source control, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience troubleshooting applications using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical decisions, progress, and risks clearly.
Bonus (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience building reusable platform services consumed by multiple applications or teams, with attention to API compatibility, scalability, and reliability.
- Familiarity with GraphQL and API schema design.
- Experience with technologies such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and access controls.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to review and validate generated code.
- Exposure to integrating backend APIs with AI applications through LLM APIs, tool calling, or Model Context Protocol (MCP), with attention to authorization, input validation, and reliable execution.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
