The Infrastructure Engineering organization develops services and tools to enable, support, and optimize software development processes and practices for Chewy engineers. In this role, you will develop new customer-facing features, enhance existing systems with automation, and improve observability of business applications that power the e-commerce platform and beyond. What You'll Do:
- Apply algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to build scalable and performant code
- Architect a resilient system for a customer-facing web application from scratch
- Partner with stakeholders and technology teams on how to best implement desired customer features and enhancements
- Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development
- Collaborate with Team Members to drive automated solutions to standardize methodologies, workflows, reusable modules, and tooling
- Contribute to team's standard processes for logging, testing, instrumentation, metrics, monitors, alerts, practices, and processes
- Conduct design and code reviews and raise the bar on engineering rigor and standard
- You will participate in setting guidelines for evolving development practices, as well as mentoring junior engineers
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos and retrospective
- Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshooting production issues and improving operational excellence
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar; or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of strong Java programming experience
- 3+ years of strong programming experience with frontend technologies like React, Typescript, NodeJS
- Ability to think independently and break down product requirements into well-defined tasks
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure development efforts align with stakeholder needs
- Experience in monitoring production environment, troubleshooting, triaging and addressing production issues
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tool
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Experience with designing, building and deploying scalable, highly available systems

- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
