We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Waltham, MA.

Job Summary

The Software Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering database and platform software that supports Imprivata’s current and future EAM appliances across on-premises and cloud environments. This role develops and maintains distributed database solutions, supports multi-appliance enterprise configuration and management—including database replication and networking—and contributes to the architecture, security, scalability, and reliability of the EAM platform. The Software Engineer II analyzes and remediates security vulnerabilities, resolves customer escalations, and applies sound engineering practices to solve complex technical challenges. This role offers the opportunity to build high-quality solutions that support products used by more than one million people every day to save time, reduce frustration, and improve patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for design and delivery of the database, database replication, and the software responsible for setup, configuration, and integration of the database on the virtual appliance
• Develop and debug software for the distributed database architecture
• Develop and debug software in a multi-threaded environment
• Develop database and replication application functionality within a dynamic development environment.
• Create high-quality code testable through automation.
• Create unit and functional automated tests.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related degree.
• 3+ years of development experience in a Linux environment.
• 3+ years of configuring and developing software for a distributed database
• Experience with distributed database architectures and principles.
• Experience with database ACID principles.
• Experience with AI first development.
• Working knowledge of shell scripting, Java, and the Linux operating system.
• Working knowledge of Perl and PHP is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Oracle and Postgres SQL.
• Working knowledge of Oracle database and Oracle Golden Gate.
• Strong proven design skills with the ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high expectations.
• Solid experience with the full software development life cycle and a proven track record in successfully bringing products to market.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact well with both internal teams and external customers and partners.
• Experience working in a Kanban environment is a plus.
• Experience with cloud environments Azure, Google, and AWS is a plus.

This position offers a total compensation range of $133,000.00 to 143,000.00 (inclusive of base salary and variable compensation, such as bonuses and incentives). In addition, more information about Imprivata’s benefit offerings can be found here. This range represents the high and low end of Imprivata’s compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
