The Software Engineer I will enhance customer experiences for vet products, creating and maintaining frontend applications and backend integrations, focusing on data-informed improvements.
Job Description:
Our Team:
Chewy's Pet Health team is on a mission to make pet healthcare simpler, more accessible, and a little less stressful for pet parents (and their furry sidekicks). From scaling telehealth to optimizing user experiences across the pet-Rx space, we're building products that genuinely make a difference in how people care for their pets!
Engineering is at the heart of that journey. We're a curious, collaborative group that cares just as much about why we're building something as how we build it. We celebrate wins, learn from missteps without blame, and continuously raise the bar for ourselves and each other. Whether it's contributing to shared platforms or partnering across teams, you'll find plenty of opportunities to make a real impact and grow along the way.
Your Role:
Chewy is hiring a Software Engineer I (Full Stack) for our Boston, MA office to join our Pet Health Storefront team. In this role, you'll help shape the experiences that pet parents rely on when it matters most, from finding the right prescription diet to seamlessly managing orders after checkout.
You'll take ownership of the path-to-purchase and post-order experience for vet diet and prescription products, helping turn complex healthcare workflows into smooth, intuitive journeys. While you'll work across the stack, your primary focus will be crafting modern, thoughtful user experiences that are fast, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
Day to day, you'll collaborate with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to build features, experiment with improvements, and use data to guide decisions. If you enjoy seeing your work directly improve customers' lives (and maybe a few wagging tails along the way), you'll feel right at home here.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
The base salary range for this role is $103,000 - $160,000.00.
We offer different types of insurance and benefits, such as medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident. We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.
Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
Chewy is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, citizenship, marital status, religion, age, disability, gender identity, results of genetic testing, veteran status, as well as any other legally-protected characteristic. If you have a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act or similar law, and you need an accommodation during the application process or to perform these job requirements, or if you need a religious accommodation, please contact [email protected].
