Mimecast is looking for a driven SMB Renewals Account Manager to own the renewal outcomes for a high-volume book of small and mid-sized business customers. This is a fast-paced, metrics-driven role for someone who thrives on managing a large portfolio efficiently — spotting risk early, moving deals through the pipeline quickly, and finding smart, low-friction ways to grow revenue along the way. You'll be the primary point of contact for renewal, retention, and expansion conversations across your book, working at speed without losing the relationship-first mindset that keeps customers coming back.
- Own the end-to-end renewal process for a high-volume portfolio of SMB accounts, hitting on-time renewal and retention targets month over month.
- Run a disciplined, data-driven pipeline — prioritizing accounts by risk, value, and renewal date to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- Spot and act on expansion opportunities (seat growth, add-on products, tier upgrades) as a natural extension of the renewal conversation.
- Handle pricing and contract renewal conversations directly with customers, including standard uplifts and term changes.
- Partner with Customer Success and Support to flag churn risk early and coordinate save plays before a renewal is in jeopardy.
- Work with channel and reseller partners on renewal execution where accounts are managed through partners.
- Keep CRM and forecast data accurate and current — your pipeline hygiene is what leadership relies on for forecasting.
- Use customer usage and engagement data to inform outreach timing and renewal strategy at scale.
- A track record of hitting renewal, retention, or quota targets in a high-volume, transactional sales or account management environment.
- Comfort managing dozens of accounts simultaneously without losing sight of the details that matter.
- Confidence having pricing and negotiation conversations, even under time pressure.
- Sharp communication skills — clear, efficient, and persuasive, whether it's a quick call or a written renewal proposal.
- Working knowledge of CRM and forecasting tools (Salesforce or similar) and general comfort with Excel/reporting.
- A proactive, self-starter mentality — you don't wait to be told an account is at risk, you already know.
- Prior experience in SaaS renewals, inside sales, or customer success.
- Familiarity with email security, cybersecurity, or IT/SaaS products.
- Experience working with channel partners or resellers.
