Are you ready to make an impact in the world of commercial interiors? The Shaw Contract team is hiring in Boston! As an Account Executive, you’ll work closely with architects, designers, business owners, and contractors to bring high-quality flooring solutions to life. This individual will cover accounts in Boston proper & Rhode Island. Candidates should bring a strong prospecting and business development skillset, with a demonstrated ability to generate new opportunities and build a consistent pipeline. Success in this role requires comfort operating within a structured sales process (SPPM) to qualify prospects, advance opportunities, and drive new business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with architects, designers, dealers, flooring contractors, end users, and other industry partners to select products that meet project design criteria, budgets, applications, and timelines.
  • Travel daily throughout the assigned territory to support existing customers, develop relationships, and prospect for new business.
  • Manage projects from inception through completion, including opportunity identification, product selection, specification, order placement, order tracking, delivery coordination, installation oversight, punch walk or claim coordination when necessary, and communication of maintenance programs.
  • Develop new business by identifying underserved accounts, creating a consistent pipeline, and expanding Shaw Contract’s presence within the territory.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and serve as a consultative resource by discussing solutions and presenting products that support their project needs.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the sales team to surround opportunities across the A&D, dealer, and end-user channels.
  • Present products and solutions to architects, designers, dealers, contractors, and end users through individual meetings, group presentations, and customer events.
  • Manage customer relationships, sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline information through a CRM platform such as Salesforce.com.
  • Follow up on leads generated through industry resources, networking organizations, customer referrals, events, and other business development channels.
  • Participate in Shaw Contract customer events and maintain an active presence within relevant industry organizations and networking groups, such as IIDA, IFMA, BOMA, or NAFCA.
  • Build relationships with existing and prospective customers through meetings, lunches, dinners, industry events, and other appropriate customer-engagement activities.
  • Work independently while actively contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented sales environment.

Commercial Account Executives are responsible for implementing the selling process within their assigned territory and using sound judgment to manage customer relationships and business opportunities. A strong understanding of Shaw Contract’s product portfolio and the applications each product serves is essential.

The ability to communicate with a diverse customer base in a friendly, respectful, and consultative manner is critical. The ideal candidate will possess a flexible, relationship-driven approach and communicate clearly in both verbal and written settings. Account Executives will regularly present products and solutions to architects, designers, dealers, contractors, and end users while helping customers understand how Shaw Contract can support their projects.
