THE ROLE: Senior Vice President, Engagement Marketing

Customer relationships are our lifeblood. As the Senior Vice President of Engagement Marketing, you will own the end-to-end strategy that turns first-time shoppers into passionate, high-value members—driving profitable growth across Rue La La and Gilt (RGG). We’re seeking a visionary and strategic leader who recognizes the transformative power of AI and data to drive innovation, deepen customer engagement, and unlock new levels of personalization and performance. In this role, you’ll lead the development and execution of integrated marketing programs that connect with customers across every touchpoint—email, mobile, web, social, and emerging platforms like resale. Your focus will be on maximizing engagement, retention, and lifetime value, delivering high-impact experiences that fuel sustainable growth. Reporting directly to the CMO, you will serve as a key voice within the marketing leadership team, influencing the overall company strategy and collaborating cross-functionally with Merchandising, Planning, Creative, Finance, Product, and Engineering.


 What You’ll Do…

Set Vision & Strategy

  • Architect and lead the customer engagement marketing strategy aligned with business goals and customer lifecycle stages.
  • Define the future of loyalty—re-imagining program structure, perks, and economics to deepen member engagement and grow share of wallet.
  • Own segmentation, messaging, and cadence strategies for customer journeys incorporating AI to personalize every touchpoint and increase message-driven visitation and revenue (onboarding, re-engagement, win-back, etc.).
  • Build a forward-looking roadmap for AI-powered engagement, partnering cross functionally to pilot emerging technologies and create a competitive advantage in how Rue La La and Gilt connect with customers.

Lead & Inspire

  • Inspire and grow a high-performing team across CRM, lifecycle marketing, loyalty, personalization, and digital communications, cultivating a culture of curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning grounded in data and experimentation.
  • Be a passionate advocate for the customer; championing customer-first thinking and ensuring the customer voice shapes the strategy, innovation and every brand touchpoint.
  • Lead by example – embody RGG’s values, purpose and ambition – and create the kind of inclusive, purpose-driven environment where people feel motivated to do their best work.
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Data Science Teams to deliver clear, actionable insights. Use data-driven storytelling to convey strategic growth opportunities.
  • Fuel innovation through a disciplined culture of testing & experimentation, leveraging A/B and multivariate testing to unlock what truly moves the needle on engagement, loyalty, and shopping behaviors. Measure and manage KPIs ensuring clarity on what’s working, why, and the short- and long-term impact to our business.
  • Think and act beyond the function – act as an enterprise leader who connects the dots across teams, aligns engagement strategies with the company goals and Key Strategic Priorities, identifies and addresses interdependencies, and creates shared wins across RGG.

Budget & Performance Management

  • Own and optimize the Engagement Marketing budget, ensuring every dollar drives impact through smart forecasting, disciplined investment, and a focus on measurable ROI.
  • Translate performance and data into insight, regularly sharing results, trends, and other information with the executive team and leaders of RGG. Recommend strategic opportunities that will accelerate our growth, contribute to the customer experience, and deepen member loyalty.

  • Brings 12+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role focused on engagement, CRM, or lifecycle marketing for B2C brands
  • Has a proven track record of driving measurable growth through customer-centric strategies that elevate brand experience and deepen loyalty.
  • Possesses deep fluency in marketing technology, data infrastructure and omnichannel campaign execution – translating complexity into seamless, personalized journeys at scale.
  • Is an expert in customer journey mapping, segmentation, loyalty programs and design, and behavioral targeting, always thinking one step ahead of the customer.
  • Acts as a true player-coach – someone who builds, mentors and inspires high performing teams, while staying close to the numbers and results.
  • Communicates with clarity and influence, distilling insights into a crisp and inspiring vision for every audience, from analysts to the executive team.
