To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $218,700 - $285,525
Zone B: $197,100 - $257,325
Zone C: $181,800 - $237,350
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What You'll Do
- Set and Execute Research Strategy: Identify the critical Enterprise & Platform research priorities, establishing a practice that balances speed and quality of research execution.
- Lead and Develop Teams: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing, globally distributed team, fostering excellence and an inclusive culture.
- Drive Impact and Partnerships: Identify and prioritize high-impact research opportunities, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and deliver insights that guide company decisions.
- Scale and Innovate: Extend research influence across the business, champion best-in-class standards and innovative methodologies (including AI), and represent Atlassian externally as a thought leader.
Your background
- Leadership & Influence: 7+ years managing and mentoring diverse, distributed research teams (10+ professionals), with a proven ability to build high-trust communities and drive organizational alignment and change at the enterprise level.
- Strategic & Research Expertise: 10+ years leading impactful research strategy in complex software environments, applying advanced quantitative and qualitative methods to influence product direction and business decisions, and establishing methodological excellence-including in AI and experimentation.
- Enterprise Strategy & Technical Acumen: Deep experience with enterprise-scale products, market strategy, and adoption, supported by an advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in a relevant field and strong technical skills in mixed-methods research.
- Attributes: Thrives in complexity and ambiguity, models resilience and continuous improvement, and is a visible champion of Atlassian's mission-driven, human-centric values.
