Senior UI/UX Specialist

Leidos is seeking a UX Specialist to be part of the mission solution and help lead our customer’s Digital Modernization Strategy.  Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces which support our customer’s mission to meet the changing needs of the public and internal customers. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills:  Strong knowledge of user-centered design (UCD) principles to include documenting user requirements and user needs (and pain points); Interaction/Interface design experience utilizing user-centered methods; designing and conducting formative various user research tests (including user interviews, contextual inquiry, card sorting, usability tests, and others) in both formal and informal settings; and experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settings.

• Derive business processes, analyze user needs, assist in requirements definition, design browser-based interfaces, and design and conduct usability testing
• Elicit business goals and user needs from stakeholders
• Facilitate customer discovery sessions
• Create Conceptual Models, Journey Maps, Personas and Scenarios of Use
• Create and refine screen prototypes
• Document user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
• BS Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 6 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in User-Centered Methods and User Analysis.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.   
• Must be a US Citizen

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
• Minimum of 6 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in User-Centered Methods and User Analysis
• Minimum of 6 years of experience documenting user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing and conducting formative usability tests in both formal and informal
• settings
• Minimum of 4 years of experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settings
• Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

• Experience using Axure RP prototyping software
• Experience with AdobeXD prototyping software
• Experience with Pega and/or ServiceNow platforms
• Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology
• Understanding of responsive design
• Prior experience supporting government agencies
• Understanding of Section 508 and its requirements regarding design
• Hold additional UX Certifications such as UX Master Certification (NN/g) or UX Design Immersive (General Assembly)
