The Program Management Team is the architectural force behind the world's most performant, efficient, and reliable global platform. We are looking for a leader to drive complex technical programs that push the boundaries of Akamai's Cloud Computing Technology. In this role you'll orchestrate the evolution of the cloud at a global scale.

Shape the success of projects

Akamai drives the internet, with our Server Team as its core. We seek a skilled Lead, Senior Technical Program Manager. This role involves managing complexity, guiding expert multidisciplinary teams, and transforming strategic business objectives into technical outcomes.

As a Lead Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Serving as a lead for the Server Team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Driving multiple high-impact, complex projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with Akamai's core business objectives
  • Facilitating collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, connecting engineering, product, and operations while fostering relationships with internal teams on server hardware components.
  • Acting as a critical contributor to Akamai's global success by optimizing server performance and reliability at scale
  • Supporting cross-functional teams and providing subject matter expertise in planning and execution of multiple projects and programs
  • Fostering effective communication while ensuring precise documentation and reporting on program status, risks, opportunities, dependencies, and success metrics to stakeholders.
  • Engaging consistently with key collaborators, communicating progress effectively, evaluating risks, understanding priorities, and proposing solutions while implementing continuous process improvements

  • Have experience in team management and people leadership
  • Have technical skills within server hardware and software scope including GPUs and smartNICs / DPUs
  • Demonstrate proficient experience in program or project management in a cross functional and technical team
  • Demonstrate proficient experience in managing agile work processes and experience/ skills in managing external vendors relationships
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and organizational skills while communicating effectively and adapting swiftly to shifting priorities in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrate initiative with analytical expertise, solve problems effectively, make decisions, collaborate well, and engage in creative, innovative projects.
