Designs, builds, integrates, and continuously improves business systems, workflows, APIs, automations, internal tools, dashboards, and data flows across healthcare operations. Owns technical solutions from discovery and requirements through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization. Troubleshoots multi-system issues, implements validation and monitoring, documents technical processes, evaluates AI-enabled automation opportunities, and mentors team members while partnering with Operations, Clinical, Fulfillment, Marketing, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders.
This is a remote position.
Design, automate, integrate, and continuously improve the systems and workflows that support Thrivelab’s healthcare operations. This is a hands-on senior technical role that bridges business processes and technology, requiring the ability to understand how work is performed today, identify inefficiencies and failure points, design improved future-state workflows, and implement scalable technical solutions end to end. The role works across CRM, patient and provider workflows, recruiting and HR platforms, pharmacy and fulfillment processes, APIs, third-party integrations, reporting, and internal automation. It requires evaluating whether business problems should be solved through configuration, automation, integration, custom development, or third-party platforms. Thrivelab is an AI-forward organization. The role is expected to actively use AI to improve workflows, accelerate development and problem-solving, stay current with new AI models, tools, capabilities, and major releases, and apply appropriate judgment around reliability, security, data privacy, and human oversight.
Requirements
4+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, business systems, process automation, or a related technical field, with a strong programming/software development foundation and hands-on experience designing and implementing business process automation. Strong programming or scripting experience with JavaScript, Python, Deluge, or similar, along with strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON structures, authentication methods, third-party integrations, databases, data relationships, mappings, and transformations. Experience with CRM, ERP, workflow management, or other enterprise SaaS platforms; ability to troubleshoot workflows spanning multiple applications; and experience defining and executing technical testing and validation. Ability to independently take ambiguous business problems, understand complex processes, define requirements and acceptance criteria, design scalable technical workflows, and drive implementation through production. Strong process-flow/technical documentation and communication skills, with the ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred experience with SQL and BI/reporting tools; Zoho CRM, Creator, Books, Flow, Desk, and Deluge, or comparable platforms such as Zapier, Make, UiPath, Power Automate, and Workato; as well as integrations involving communications, payments, pharmacies, scheduling, or marketing platforms. Preferred experience in healthcare, telehealth, compounding pharmacy, fulfillment, hormone therapy, or other regulated consumer/DTC healthcare environments, including an understanding of HIPAA and secure handling of sensitive healthcare information. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, continuous improvement, and fast-growing/high-volume operational environments is valuable. Experience using AI-assisted development tools, staying current with AI models and capabilities, and identifying appropriate AI-enabled automation opportunities while considering reliability, security, privacy, and human oversight is also preferred.
Key responsibility:
Partner with Operations, Clinical, Fulfillment, Patient Care, Marketing, HR, Finance, and other teams to understand business problems; analyze current workflows; identify bottlenecks, manual work, duplicate steps, data gaps, and automation opportunities; and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and future-state processes. Design, build, and maintain automations, workflows, APIs, webhooks, integrations, custom functions, scripts, application logic, internal tools, dashboards, reports, and data flows across Thrivelab’s technology ecosystem and external systems. Own technical solutions end to end, from ambiguous business problem → discovery → requirements and acceptance criteria → process and technical design → development → testing/QA/UAT → deployment → monitoring and continuous improvement. Troubleshoot complex issues spanning multiple systems, identify root causes rather than temporary fixes, and implement validation rules, exception handling, logging, alerts, and monitoring to ensure reliable system behavior. Document system logic, integrations, workflows, dependencies, process flows, and technical decisions; investigate production issues; and ensure critical system knowledge is documented and maintainable rather than dependent on one person. Proactively identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency, including appropriate uses of AI; mentor technical team members; and help establish standards for automation, integrations, documentation, testing, maintainability, and technical delivery.
