Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

Symbotic is hiring a senior program leader to bring structure and predictability to how we deliver programs that combine robotics hardware, embedded and application software, and the enterprise systems behind them.

You will set the standard for integrated program management across the company, personally lead our most complex companywide initiatives, and multiply the effectiveness of the program managers and functional leaders who own day to day execution. You will step into a constantly changing portfolio, see what matters quickly, surface the risks that status reports miss, and get the right people to own the work.

We are looking for the adaptability of a consultant combined with the credibility of someone who has taken complex hardware and software products through launch and into customer support. You will work directly with the C-suite and be as credible with engineers as you are with executives.

What we do

Symbotic builds the AI-enabled robotic systems that run large distribution centers for major retailers and wholesalers. Our systems are live in customer facilities today, and the business is growing across customers, product lines and geographies. This role sits in our Strategic Growth organization, where program discipline turns that growth into predictable delivery.

What you'll do

  • Own Symbotic's integrated program management standards: governance, stage gates, templates and operating cadence.
  • Oversee a portfolio of hardware, software, enterprise application and business solution programs with one integrated view of scope, schedule, budget, resourcing and dependencies.
  • Personally lead the most complex companywide initiatives from business cases through delivery.
  • Bring portfolio status, risks, trade-offs and recommendations to the C-suite and drive the decisions.
  • Guide programs from concept through new product introduction, production ramp, field deployment and sustaining, with supply chain, service, support and warranty built in from the start.
  • Govern engineering change across the deployed installed base and close the loop from field data back to engineering roadmaps.
  • Connect product development to the business that supports it, including enterprise systems such as PLM and engineering change, ERP, MES, warranty and field service.
  • Coach and develop program managers and use AI tools to raise how the whole team plans, reports and spots risk.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience in technical program and product management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading multi-program portfolios of complex integrated hardware and software products, for example in robotics, industrial automation, automotive and EVs, consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices or semiconductor equipment.
  • At least one complex technical product taken from concept through launch and field sustainment, and a clear view of the difference between launching a product and scaling it.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, suppliers, reliability, deployment, field service, support, and warranty economics.
  • A record of improving execution across multiple programs at once through other program managers, without personally taking over each one.
  • A track record of presenting to C-suite executives and influencing their decisions.
  • Experience building or standardizing program management practice.
  • Financial fluency with business cases, program budgets, and cost models.
  • Experience using AI tools for program management.
  • Preferred: management consulting or enterprise transformation experience; enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, MES, warranty, field service or customer support platforms; global deployments; large capital systems at customer sites.

Our Environment

  • Up to 15% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
