At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

As an IT Sr. Systems Engineer in the Corporate Engineering division, you will build and scale the systems, workflows, and automations that power the employee experience at Vanta. This is an opportunity to shape the future of enterprise tooling at a high-growth company, architecting decisions, developing scalable solutions, and enabling Vanta'ns to do their best work securely and efficiently.

The Corporate Engineering team is an employee-facing team with a mission to provide Vanta'ns with a secure and stellar experience with the tools and technologies they need to do their best work, regardless of where they are. This role will partner closely with Security, IT Operations, and cross-functional business stakeholders to design and maintain scalable corporate systems and integrations across Vanta's collaboration and productivity ecosystem.

What you’ll do as a Senior Systems Engineer at Vanta:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain business-critical corporate systems and SaaS platforms.

  • Build and configure AI-driven workflows and automations using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Dust, as well as custom development where needed.

  • Deploy and integrate AI capabilities into internal systems such as Slack and Okta using platforms like Vercel, to automate IT operations tasks and internal support, while maintaining security, privacy, and data integrity.

  • Own and improve workflows, automations, and integrations across collaboration and productivity tooling.

  • Partner with Security and IT Operations teams to implement and enforce policies, access controls, and compliance requirements across corporate systems.

  • Configure and support SSO, SCIM provisioning, and identity lifecycle integrations across applications.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex systems and platform issues, while contributing to the team's shared ticket queue, which can make up a significant portion of the role.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

  • Drive platform governance and best practices across enterprise tooling.

  • Collaborate with vendors on escalations, roadmap discussions, and technical troubleshooting.

How to be successful in this role:

  • Advanced proficiency administering a broad SaaS portfolio in hybrid, high-growth environments, with deep expertise in our core stack: Okta (including Workflows), Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise, and Atlassian.

  • Hands-on experience building integrations and automations against SaaS APIs, using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or GAM.

  • Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts including SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM.

  • Proven ability to design scalable workflows and operational processes in enterprise environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across interconnected systems.

  • Comfortable operating autonomously and driving projects from conception through implementation.

  • Effective communicator who can break down complex technical problems for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Write clear, maintainable documentation as a standard part of the work

  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer sponsorship

What you can expect as a Vanta’n:

  • Industry-competitive salary and equity

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans

  • 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for all new parents

  • Health & wellness stipend

  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend

  • Commuter benefits for team members who report to the SF and NYC office

  • Family planning benefits

  • Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting

  • Flexible PTO policy, plus 80 hours of Sick Time

  • 11 company-paid holidays

  • Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and other company-wide events!

  • Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney

At Vanta, we are committed to hiring diverse talent of different backgrounds and as such, it is important to us to provide an inclusive work environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender identity, age, religion, sexual orientation, veteran or disability status, or any other protected class. As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage and welcome people of all backgrounds to apply.

About Vanta

We started in 2018, in the wake of several high-profile data breaches. Online security was only becoming more important, but we knew firsthand how hard it could be for fast-growing companies to invest the time and manpower it takes to build a solid security foundation. Vanta was inspired by a vision to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling companies to improve and prove their security. From our early days automating security monitoring for compliance standards like SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 to creating the world's leading Trust Management Platform, our vision remains unchanged.

Now more than ever, making security continuous—not just a point-in-time check— is essential. Thousands of companies rely on Vanta to build, maintain and demonstrate their trust— all in a way that's real-time and transparent.
