What The Role Is

Reporting to the Director, Wildlife, the Senior Specialist will utilize their demonstrated bat regulatory and permitting experience to support the construction and operation of Wind fleet across the Nation. Duties will include monitoring existing operation facilities, monitoring new construction related tree removal, staying abreast of the latest bat monitoring and curtailment technologies and supporting company’s Permitting team. This position will require travel to support pre-construction, construction and operating company’s facilities.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensure compliance with all biological permits related to bats.
  • Supervise and direct bat biological consultants at company construction and/or operated facilities.
  • Support the Company’s Permitting & Development team as needed.
  • Ensure Company resources are used in a cost-effective manner.
  • Develop regional facility risk analysis for current Operating facilities.
  • Collect facility data with close attention to species detected.
  • Develops/implements Company and facility specific programs and procedures.
  • Monitor the regulatory processes related to current and upcoming bat ESA listings
  • Strong communication skills to maintain/develop relationships with State and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to recognizes problems and is proactive in helping resolve them.

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of Bat “SMART” curtailment technology, monitoring and impact assessment methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations including but not limited to Endangered Species Act and Bat Conservations Plans.
  • Working knowledge of Habitat Conservation Plans and take permit application process (i.e. eagle, bat or other wildlife species).
  • Ability to use software applications to enter and evaluate data and create reports.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent technical and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and perform effectively in an unstructured work environment without close supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals.
  • Ability to perform as a team member or leader in a cross-functional team environment and achieve consensus decisions.
  • Ability to use basic math and algebra to perform calculations.
  • Ability to read, create and follow written procedures and technical documents.

Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).

 

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations

$92,000$109,000 USD
