Senior Software Engineer

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in the Fidelity Wealth organisation. This position aligns to the Capital Markets division of Fidelity Wealth. Capital Markets is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity, delivering brokerage and trading solutions worldwide for institutional and retail customers. The engineering team provides software engineering, application development and project management for Capital Markets applications. You will work as part of a team developing on the Baskets Portfolio application platform, a self-directed portfolio offering that allows customers to build and manage a portfolio (Basket) of stocks and ETFs.

The Expertise we’re looking for

  • Bachelors or Masters’ degree in a Technology related field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in software application design & development.
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    Java, Spring, Oracle db, SQL, RESP API's, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Cloud- based Microservices.
  • Experience with build, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile development practices and the value they bring to development teams.
  • Experience with automation test frameworks (e.g. Cucumber) and test-driven development.
  • Financial Services industry experience preferred but not essential.

The Purpose of your role

  • You will be a senior member of a scrum team made up of other software engineers and systems analysts, responsible for delivering key customer features.
  • You will work closely with the engineering lead, systems analysts, architects, and other developers to design, build, test, and deliver the features that make up the Fidelity Baskets Platform.
