What You’ll Do:
Our Engineering Culture
We operate in small, autonomous teams where developers, designers, scientists, and product managers collaborate closely. You'll have direct ownership in building solutions that make a meaningful impact in cancer research and treatment. Our agile approach and modern architecture enable us to innovate rapidly while maintaining the highest standards of quality and scalability.
Technical Requirements
- 5+ years of advanced TypeScript/JavaScript development with deep understanding of language features and optimization techniques
- Extensive experience architecting and leading development with Node.js and NestJS frameworks
- Expert-level React development with demonstrated ability to design and implement complex component systems
- Advanced PostgreSQL skills including query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
- Proven expertise implementing sophisticated Redis caching solutions for high-throughput systems
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing distributed microservice architectures
- Significant experience orchestrating infrastructure and applications on GCP, including CI/CD pipelines
- Mastery of enterprise-level design patterns and their practical application in large-scale, mission-critical systems

- 7+ years of software development experience with a track record of technical leadership
- Ability to make high-impact architectural decisions that balance business needs with technical considerations
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and establishing technical best practices

Illinois Pay Range - $110,000 - $160,000
The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
