Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated (Senior) Scientist, Protein Sciences to join our team. The role will focus on protein conjugation and production. Familiarity AOC and ADCs is a plus, and industry experience in bioconjugation is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects focused on protein conjugation, production and purification.
  • Design and optimize protein conjugation strategies for a variety of molecules (antibodies, peptides, oligonucleotides), including linker design
  • Establish in-house conjugation, purification, and characterization capabilities.
  • Collaborate with biology team to design controlled experiments, align on handoffs and required materials.
  • Establish and manage CRO relationships to support protein-conjugates and linker production.
  • Stay current with the latest scientific advancements and integrate new techniques and technologies into the research workflow.

Qualifications/experience

  • Scientific training (Ph.D. or industry experience) in chemistry, biochemistry, protein sciences, antibody engineering or related field.
  • Prior industry experience with bioconjugation is a must, with a preference for antibody bioconjugation.
  • Experience with protein purification techniques (affinity chromatography, size-exclusion, ion-exchange) and with protein characterization and analysis methods is a must.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present results and scientific data to team leaders, cross-functional teams, academic collaborators, or partners.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and enthusiastic about playing a pivotal role in a dynamic and multidisciplinary small biotech environment.

Desirable skills

  • Experience or foundational knowledge in AOC and ADC state of the art linkers
  • Experience with rational antibody design and screening techniques: phage and yeast display, transgenic production, affinity maturation, etc.
  • Experience with mammalian expression and characterization of antibodies and antibody fragments.

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $258,500. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. FL106 currently offers healthcare coverage, annual incentive program, retirement benefits and a broad range of other benefits. Compensation and benefits information is based on FL106's good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
