Objective / Purpose:
As a Senior Scientist in the Potency and Functional Characterization team within Analytical Development, it is expected that the individual will lead efforts in development of appropriate scientific methods, implementation of evolving scientific technology and drive cross functional interactions across Pharmaceutical Sciences to deliver on program strategy. The individual is expected to have expertise in the development, execution, validation, and lifecycle management of cell-based potency methods and relevant technologies. Additionally, expertise in the generation of analytical cell lines with stable expression of targets of interests and/or reporter constructs to enable measurement of signal transduction is required.

$137,000.00 - $215,270.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

Accountabilities:
- Independently designs and executes experimental plans within function and cross functionally.
- Responsible for generation of analytical cell lines stably expressing targets of interest and/or reporter genes to enable development of potency methods to be used for product characterization and/or GMP release and stability testing
- Expected to independently propose and implement resolutions to complex technical challenges.
- Responsible for sole technical leadership within own program(s), Provide technical guidance related to expertise across other programs.
- Serves as a technical resource within function, mentoring and training junior employees across multiple technologies.
- Reviews and interprets complex data, communicating clearly to functional leadership and relevant line functions.
- Leads technology transfer internally and externally, building key vendor relationships.
- Able to develop project strategy within AD and cross functionally and guide junior staff.
- Prepares documentation for regulatory filings, authors technical reports, may author publications.
- Able to work on multiple programs and represent AD within PS/project teams
- Complete all required training appropriate to role and function in a timely manner.
Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):
- Bachelors degree with 10+ yrs relevant experience, Masters degree with 8+ yrs relevant experience, Ph.D. with 2 yr relevant experience
- Competent in multiple analytical techniques with advanced knowledge in specific analytical techniques relevant to analytical function, understands wider organization deliverables and project timelines
- Expertise in generation of stable analytical mammalian cell lines, including experience with relevant techniques and technologies. Experience with plasmid design, amplification, purification, transfection and transduction of mammalian cells, clonal isolation, and flow cytometry
- Able to communicate complex data clearly, able to work cross functionally, good scientific writing skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision
