Overview

The Americas Sales Enablement & Operations and EPS (SE&O and EPS) organization sits at the center of translating Microsoft’s commercial strategy into field execution. Within SE&O and EPS, the Americas Business & Sales Operations (BSO) group serves as the center of excellence for cross-business planning, execution performance, and sales operations transformation. Our team builds the programs, frameworks, and systems that enable thousands of sellers across the Americas to operate at scale and with precision.

The Senior Sales Operations Manager, BI & Tools is an individual contributor responsible for understanding the needs of Americas sales leaders and teams, partnering with Engineering teams to deliver on those needs, reporting transformation, and tooling alignment across complex sales environments.  The role sits at the intersection of sales teams, strategy, data, engineering, and sales operations. It is accountable for translating business needs into scalable reporting and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, improving confidence in the data leaders use to run the business, and helping the field move faster from question to insight to action. In this role, you will operate with accountability, executive communication, business judgment, and an AI-first mindset.

At Microsoft, our mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more guides how we partner with customers to deliver trusted, impactful solutions. With a growth‑mindset culture, we innovate responsibly and measure success by shared progress, people, teams, and customers. Join us to do meaningful work that changes the world and helps shape what’s next for everyone.

Responsibilities
  • Define business requirements and solution design - Gather, clarify, and document complex reporting needs with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Operations. Translate ambiguous business questions into clear requirements, data model expectations, dashboard designs, and implementation-ready specifications across pipeline, consumption, usage, forecast, customer planning, and territory planning scenarios.
  • Modernize tools and AI-enabled processes - Identify and lead opportunities to embed AI, Copilot, automation, and advanced analytics into sales operations workflows, reporting, planning, and issue-resolution processes. Champion solutions that reduce manual effort, improve decision quality, sharpen productivity, and shift recurring work toward scalable, exception-based operations.
  • Intake, prioritization and execution management - Own intake, triage, prioritization, and routing of BI issues, reporting gaps, enhancements, access concerns, and data-quality questions. Drive resolution across the reporting ecosystem and build interim proof-of-concepts or lightweight business solutions when practical bridges are needed before longer-term platform delivery.
  • Maintain visibility and action to the portfolio of business needs – Design Service Level Agreements (SLAs), tracking and communication rhythms that ensure Americas needs are front and center for Engineering teams and being delivered in reasonable timeframes.
  • Drive program execution and field adoption - Manage a portfolio of reporting and tooling initiatives across business operations, transformation, and field enablement. Create structured operating rhythms to track progress, surface risks, support change management, and ensure sellers and leaders can act on the insights provided—not just consume reports.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)

  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
