Description:
We are seeking an experienced Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join Mariana’s Preclinical Development function.
Specifically, this role will support Preclinical Development (including DMPK and Radiopharmacology) advancing personalized medicine and radiopharmaceuticals. This will include tumor model development/optimization, designing and executing pharmacokinetic studies and pharmacology studies using radiotherapeutics.
The role requires the candidate to have a broad understanding of in-vivo pharmacology, analyze data, make presentations at research meetings, and interface productively and successfully with internal cross-functional teams, potential external collaborators, and contract research organizations (CROs).
The candidate should be a creative individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to step outside of his/her comfort zone.
Illustrative Breadth of Responsibilities:
- Support the Preclinical Development’s in vivo pharmacology and pharmacokinetic (PK) studies
- Conduct in vivo mouse studies, including dosing via IV, IP, SQ, and other routes as needed.
- Perform tumor inoculations and tumor volume measurements.
- Perform necropsy, tissue dissection, and blood collection (in-life and terminal).
- Perform blood collections via submandibular cheek bleeds and cardiac punctures.
- Prepare and process tissues for downstream analysis.
- Accurately label samples, track collection, and maintain comprehensive records.
- Follow protocols rigorously and contribute to protocol refinement when needed.
- Ability to follow SOPs and work independently
- Maintain accurate and organized data entry and analysis (including maintaining the Electronic Lab Notebook in an accurate and timely fashion to ensure compliance with internal quality standards)
- Collect and analyze and document data and interpret results and generate technical conclusions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic research environment.
- Knowledge in cell culture is desired but not a requirement.
- Experience working with radioactive material is desired but not a requirement.
- Contribute to and author technical reports.
- Experience in managing CRO’s is desired but not required.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field.
- Strong background in pharmacology and/or PK research
- Highly skilled in in-vivo techniques.
- Radiopharmaceutical experience is desired, but training will be provided for motivated individuals.
- Strong technical writing and oral communication abilities.
- Experience working with electronic quality management and laboratory information management systems.
- Ability to work with computers and software applications, such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a small team setting and take on significant responsibilities during daily operations.
