Job Summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Government/Regulatory Reporting Analyst to oversee the accurate and timely submission of regulatory reports across operational, contractual, and trading domains. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with complex and evolving regulatory requirements issued by agencies such as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), U.S. Department of Energy (EIA), WREGIS and others as required.

The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle of regulatory reporting, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and alignment with agency standards. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, deep knowledge of energy market operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc regulatory reports in compliance with agency requirements.
  • Ensure all filings are accurate, complete, and aligned with applicable rules, precedents, and deadlines.
  • Track and maintain compliance with reporting obligations across multiple agencies.
  • Coordinate the collection, validation, and analysis of large datasets from various internal sources.
  • Analyze complex power transactions across multiple legal entities; identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate contract representation in trading system used for regulatory reporting.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement process enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
  • Partner with Front Office Trading, Compliance, and IT to ensure the availability and refinement of risk analysis tools.
  • Maintain a structured, auditable archive of all regulatory filings and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate data anomalies and process improvement opportunities to stakeholders and management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the energy industry, with a focus on regulatory reporting or compliance. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage complex, rules-based projects with strict deadlines.
  • Project management skills with demonstrated commitment to meeting deadlines and to ensuring timely delivery of critical reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Occasional need to travel and the ability to fluctuate work schedule to meet business needs.
  • Proven ability to manage concurrent, time-sensitive projects in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Subject matter expertise in regulatory reporting for energy markets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, macros, pivot tables).
  • Experience consolidating, validating, and reporting large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
