Paradigm is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support our client, a global provider of technology-enabled legal services. This is a senior, hands-on QA role supporting the development and enhancement of scalable, high-volume software workflows used in complex class action and remediation programs.
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of manual and automated testing experience, with particular strength in back-end and data-intensive applications. You should be comfortable building and maintaining automated test scripts, writing SQL queries, working closely with developers and business analysts, and serving as a technical resource and mentor to other QA team members.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:
- Develop, document, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases covering component-level testing through User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Perform manual testing, including smoke, sanity, regression, and UAT testing.
- Build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
- Test new and existing application functionality to ensure software is reliable, defect-free, and performs as intended.
- Perform back-end and database testing, including creating test data and writing and executing SQL queries.
- Review business and technical requirements to identify gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and testing requirements.
- Partner closely with software engineers, business analysts, business stakeholders, and other QA professionals throughout the development lifecycle.
- Identify, document, report, and troubleshoot software defects and verify fixes accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and support testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and report QA metrics, including test coverage and test confidence.
- Help advance test automation practices while determining when manual testing provides the most effective coverage.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for other QA team members, providing guidance and coaching in automation testing and QA best practices.
- Work directly with the Engineering Manager and help provide leadership and direction across QA activities.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
You bring:
- 5+ years of experience in software Quality Assurance and testing.
- Strong experience with both manual and automated software testing.
- Experience with white-box and black-box testing strategies.
- Demonstrated experience performing smoke, sanity, regression, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
- 3+ years of database testing experience, including the ability to read, write, and execute SQL queries.
- 3+ years of experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle.
- 3+ years of experience testing multi-tier client/server applications.
- Understanding of software development frameworks, application architecture concepts, and software engineering terminology.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and/or Microsoft Visual Studio Team System.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues and apply strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to coach other QA professionals in automation testing techniques and practices.
