Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain UI and API-based automation frameworks.
  • Build automated tests for new and existing product features.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and improve system reliability.
  • Improve automation coverage, stability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to promote quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with QA Manual team to strategize test coverage
  • Define and refine automation architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the QA team.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Ability to commute to the Boston Seaport office at least 1-2 days per week.
  • 5+ years of experience developing automated test solutions for complex web or cloud-based applications.
  • Strong experience developing UI and API-based automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Java, Javascript, or Typescript. Java is preferred, experience in JS/TS is required.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems, automated testing pipelines, and modern software development practices.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated ability with debugging and problem-solving.
  • Team-oriented and takes initiative to engage with stakeholders to devise solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across globally distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing CAD applications or OpenGL-based graphics systems.
  • Experience working in cloud-native or SaaS environments.
  • Experience with containerized applications and modern development tooling.
  • Experience validating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and influencing engineering best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to accelerate test automation development, improve test effectiveness, and increase software quality across complex distributed systems.

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $118,000 - 165,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus.  Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs. Employees may be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage and, if you are an office-assigned employee, a generous commuter subsidy.
