Job Description

  

Program Manager 

This position is for a highly organized and goal-oriented Program Manager to lead and manage the successful execution of Department of Defense (DoD) programs of record and similar contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense contracting, program/project management, and a deep understanding of the DoD acquisition processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage DoD programs of record from inception to completion, ensuring all program objectives are met.
  • Outline program requirements, objectives, and goals for customer contracts.
  • Manage program resources, personnel, equipment, and materials to successfully fulfill contract requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to the customer and act as a liaison between the customer and the leadership/executive team.
  • Prepare and adhere to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including upper management, DoD representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all DoD regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and present program status reports to senior management and DoD officials.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and modifications.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in defense program management, project management, or related field
  • Knowledgeable in defense program management methodology and techniques; performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Must have or be able to obtain Secret clearance
  • Knowledgeable in US DoD Contracting
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; Master’s in business or related field preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of program/project management software (MS Project) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) software experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong organizational, project management, and analytical problem-solving skills are desired
  • Up to 15%-20% domestic travel

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
