The Role

We’re looking for a strong, talented, result-driven Senior Product Marketing Manager to join the Proofpoint Email Security Product Marketing team. Our team is highly valued across the company and by cross-functional teams. We

are a group of team players and go-getters dedicated to ensuring our products and solutions are differentiated and lead their respective markets.

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will drive Go-to-Market strategy for the Proofpoint Threat Protection solution. You’ll be the subject matter expert on our buyers, our competitors, and the threat landscape that our

intent-based and AI protection addresses, and you will lay the foundation for market success. You will partner closely with product management, marketing, and sales to build Go-to-Market plans and execute them by creating

high-impact assets, enabling the field, and demonstrating new capabilities that drive business growth. The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter, a diplomatic collaborator, and a strategic thinker who enjoys rolling up their sleeves

and exercises sound judgment on when to push back and when to dive in.

Your Day-to-Day

• Positioning and Messaging: Be the expert on our buyers: who they are, how they buy, and their buying criteria. Craft clear, concise messaging positioned against market and competitive trends observed among our prospects and customers. Messaging will emphasize our differentiators, including intent-based and AI protection, and the business value they deliver.

• Subject Matter Expert: Establish yourself as the go-to authority on Proofpoint’s intent-based and AI protection capabilities and the threat landscape they address, including evolving attacker tactics such as AI-enabled social

engineering and impersonation. Conduct in-depth research on market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape, and translate that expertise into actionable insights for sales, customer success, corporate marketing, and product management.

• Content Creation: Create compelling messaging and content (e.g., webinars, blogs, solution briefs, datasheets, presentations, etc.) that highlight differentiated business value and reach our target buyers.

• Product Demonstrations: Confidently demo new capabilities and solutions to sales, sales engineering, customers, and prospects. Build and maintain demo flows and talk tracks that make technical value clear to both technical and business audiences, and handle live questions with credibility.

• Presentation Guru: Be a highly experienced content presenter to internal and external audiences, including sales training, customer briefings, webinars, industry events, and analyst briefings. Be the primary thought leader for the

solutions and services you directly support.

• Strategy Execution and Performance: Drive the Go-to-Market strategy to win the email security market. Build the plan, define the metrics that show whether it is working, and track performance against them. Refine strategy and execution based on pipeline data, win/loss insights, and field feedback.

• Launch Execution: Lead cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, corporate marketing, competitive intelligence, sales, etc.) in the planning, execution, and launching of new solution capabilities and releases. Support incremental updates and solution launches throughout the year to generate sales and market awareness and drive customer demand.

• Sales Enablement: Understand and support our direct and indirect sales channels. Create and deliver effective enablement knowledge, content, and tools that help sellers identify opportunities and communicate our unique business value.

• Dynamic Collaboration: Build strong working relationships and collaborate closely with product management, corporate marketing, competitive intelligence, and sales teams to ensure alignment on release benefits and achieve business goals. Act as a bridge between technical teams and customers.• Customer Advocacy: Identify and leverage customer success stories and testimonials to strengthen our competitive positioning and messaging, support marketing efforts, and showcase the impact of our solution updates.

What You Bring to the Team

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in product marketing. Email security, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT experience strongly preferred.

• Education: BS/BA required, preferably in a business or technical concentration; MBA a plus.

• Enterprise and technical buyers: Proven experience marketing to enterprise businesses and technical buyers; demonstrated ability to converse across technical and sales audiences with a concise message.

• Threat landscape expertise: Working knowledge of threat detection, including intent-based and AI-driven protection, and the attacker tactics these capabilities are built to stop.

• Content craft: Demonstrated expertise in crafting engaging, clear, and compelling content tailored to target audiences. Proven ability to research, write, and edit high-quality materials, showcasing a strong command of tone, voice, and style aligned with messaging guidelines.

• Market and GTM: Passion for knowing your market and translating that expertise into actionable Go-to-Market plans.

• Analytical execution: Analytical mindset with the ability to execute tactically, work independently, and manage multiple priorities and projects. Comfortable using performance data to measure and refine strategy.

• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills and highly developed interpersonal skills to lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team.

• Value propositions: Ability to articulate unique value propositions at both the granular product level and the broader solution level.

• Live demonstrations: Confident live product demonstrator who can show new capabilities clearly to sales engineers, customers, and prospects, and field technical questions on the spot.

• Storytelling: Proven storyteller with exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience into business benefits that resonate

with prospects and customers. Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of internal and external audiences over Zoom and in person.

• Energy: High energy and enthusiasm, the type that is contagious and influences other teams.

• Travel: Willingness to travel to events and meetings, including international locations; expected travel is 10-15%.
