At Playlist, life's richest moments happen when people step away from screens to move, connect, explore, and play. We're building the definitive platform for intentional living, connecting people with inspiring experiences in fitness, wellness, and beyond. With popular brands like Mindbody and ClassPass, Playlist empowers businesses and individuals, making it effortless for aspirations to become actions. Join us in reshaping technology's role to foster meaningful, real-world connections.

Mindbody equips wellness entrepreneurs with technology to support thriving businesses and create exceptional experiences. Innovation and curiosity drive our culture, connecting businesses and individuals through cutting-edge solutions. Join us if you're passionate about enhancing wellness through technology.

As Senior Product Manager for Core Messaging, you will own and evolve Mindbody’s foundational messaging platform—the system that sends millions of mobile and email messages every day across Mindbody’s industry-leading suite of marketing and business management applications. You’ll lead a cross-functional squad of engineers to define the vision, roadmap, and execution plan for messaging capabilities that serve Fitness and Wellness providers in both US and international markets. This is a highly strategic role: you will build the long-term platform roadmap, drive cross-team alignment, lead complex discussions with stakeholders from legal and finance, and set the standard for reliability, compliance, and innovation in how Mindbody’s customers communicate with their clients.

About the right team member

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Product Manager to help define and execute the product strategy at Mindbody.

About the role

• Define and evangelize a multi-year roadmap for Core Messaging capabilities.

• Prioritize features by ROI, balancing platform-level foundations against bespoke customer requests.

• Manage ideation, evaluation, definition, prioritization, and delivery with a squad of engineers.

• Drive efficient trade-offs through technical discussions; ensure solutions are scalable, observable, and maintainable.

• Conduct discovery via user research, data analysis (EDW/Snowflake, vendor dashboards), and direct customer interviews.

• Translate qualitative insights and quantitative metrics into clear product requirements and success criteria.

• Represent the needs of both our business customers and their clients.

• Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Support, Finance, Vendor Management and Legal to craft launch plans, documentation, and enablement for new messaging features.

• Define and measure adoption KPIs; iterate on UX flows to drive engagement.

• Maintain mastery of global messaging regulations (e.g., 10DLC, toll-free verification, GDPR, KYC) and embed opt-in/opt-out flows that ensure legal compliance.

• Partner with Legal and Security teams to perform risk assessments and implement audit controls.

Skills & experience

  • 5+ years as a Product Manager or Senior PM building messaging-related products with deep expertise in mobile messaging channels, message types (marketing vs. transactional), 10DLC, toll-free, opt-in requirements, and global regulations
  • Technical fluency with messaging architectures: queues, retry logic, webhooks, throughput tuning, monitoring and alerting
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional squads, developing long-term roadmaps, and aligning stakeholders from engineering, sales, legal, and finance
  • Strong analytical skills; hands-on with data tools (Snowflake/EDW, Excel, SQL) to drive decisions
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management; able to simplify ambiguity and bring structure to complex problems

Preferred

  • Experience building foundational platform capabilities (vs. one-off solutions) that serve multiple product lines
  • Prior work with third-party messaging vendors (e.g., Twilio, Infobip) and integrating their dashboards/analytics

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
