About the Role and the Team
Join our global team to help us achieve our social mission: making millions of people’s opinions heard for the benefit of our local, national, and international communities. As a Senior Product Manager focused on Core Analytics, you'll be part of the Crunch team, our core data experience platform that powers syndicated data products, custom research, and first-party research hubs.
In this role, you'll own the core analytics user journey for expert analysts, empowering them with in-depth tools like crosstabs, advanced filtering, and sophisticated analysis features to uncover hidden patterns. You'll report directly to the Director of Product, Crunch, and work hand-in-hand with engineering, design, research, and commercial teams. We're seeking someone with a deep passion for data manipulation, who can independently uncover complex challenges in analytical workflows and champion features that make experts more efficient. This is about enabling power users, researchers, data scientists, and insights pros, to push boundaries, all while keeping their real-world pains and aspirations at the forefront.
What You'll Do
- Proactively scout for opportunities by analyzing user behaviors, feedback, and industry trends, surfacing overlooked problem areas that we can tackle to enhance our products.
- Leverage high emotional intelligence to truly get inside the heads of data experts and clients, ensuring our features align with their analytical mindset and workflow frustrations.
- Develop and own a roadmap that supports our overarching vision, prioritizing expert tools like crosstabs, custom queries, and data extraction for thorough, high-performance analysis.
- Guide cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and researchers through the full product lifecycle, from discovery to iteration, to deliver robust, precise experiences for data pros.
- Team up with other Product Managers to integrate foundational platform elements, such as AI for pattern detection, into advanced analytical features.
- Articulate product goals, specs, and success metrics clearly, adjusting your approach based on input from varied stakeholders to keep things on track.
- Monitor and champion key product metrics that drive how we develop our tools in order to accelerate in-depth insights.
- Draw on your expertise to innovate on common analytical hurdles, staying current with market research tech and competitive tools to keep us relevant, and ahead of the competition in a fast-changing market.
- Foster key relationships with internal experts and external clients, using your insights to anticipate needs and build trust through reliable, powerful solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
- Solid background in Enterprise SaaS Product Management, particularly in developing advanced analytics platforms for expert users who demand depth and flexibility.
- Hands-on experience crafting data-intensive features, like crosstabs or in-depth analysis tools, with a strong grasp of how analysts manipulate and interrogate datasets.
- Familiarity with agile practices and product management tools.
- Proactive, self-reliant drive, you initiate explorations and solutions proposals without hand-holding.
- High emotional intelligence to empathize deeply with users' analytical journeys, advocating for features that respect their expertise and reduce pain points.
- Advanced analytical abilities to synthesize complex data into strategic decisions, thriving in ambiguous settings with a willingness to test bold ideas.
- Outstanding communication skills, proficient in English, adapting your style to connect with technical experts and business leaders, building collaborative environments.
- A commitment to personal growth, always honing your skills to better support the team's mission.
- Skill in leading diverse teams autonomously, drawing out the best from each member to create high-impact, expert-level tools.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in survey methodologies, advanced data visualization, or analytics platforms tailored for in-depth exploration.
- Understanding of data management and API solutions to support complex queries.
- Exposure to machine learning or Generative AI for enhancing analytical depth, like data suggestions or detecting anomalies.
- Experience in business intelligence or customer insights, giving you an edge in understanding expert workflows.
