Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to own and elevate the end-to-end design experience across Uniti’s products.

At Uniti, customers use our platform to configure, monitor, and operate AI agents across voice, chat, SMS, WhatsApp, and email. We also build real-time web chat experiences where end users interact directly with these agents.

You’ll design across both sides of the product:

  • The operational platform used by teams running our AI agents

  • The end-user experiences where people interact with AI directly

This is a hands-on role spanning UX, interaction design, and polished UI design. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, founders, customer teams, and customers to understand product needs and translate them into intuitive, consistent, and high-quality experiences.

You’ll own the design process from early concepts and user flows through final designs, implementation support, and iteration. Product discovery and customer research will be part of the role, but the primary focus is designing and delivering excellent product experiences.

The interaction patterns for AI-native and agentic software are still evolving. We’re looking for someone who is excited to explore these patterns while maintaining a high bar for clarity, usability, visual quality, and consistency.

What you’ll do
  • Own the end-to-end design process across Uniti’s products

  • Translate product requirements and complex workflows into clear, intuitive user experiences

  • Design user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and polished interfaces

  • Improve the UX and UI of agent configuration, reporting, monitoring, analytics, and operational tooling

  • Design high-quality interaction experiences for our customer-facing web chat products

  • Help define interaction patterns for AI-native and agentic software

  • Collaborate with founders, product stakeholders, customers, and engineers to understand needs and shape solutions

  • Conduct customer interviews and usability sessions when needed to validate assumptions and improve designs

  • Create interactive prototypes to communicate ideas and test workflows

  • Build, maintain, and evolve a consistent design system across the product

  • Produce implementation-ready designs, states, behaviors, and specifications

  • Work closely with engineering throughout implementation and review the finished experience for design quality

  • Improve accessibility, responsiveness, consistency, and usability across the product

  • Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints

  • Contribute to product direction and roadmap discussions

  • Stay current with emerging AI interfaces, design patterns, tools, and user expectations

What we’re looking for
  • 7+ years of experience designing digital products

  • Strong experience designing SaaS products, operational software, or other complex systems

  • Excellent UX, interaction design, and visual design skills

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful user flows and polished product interfaces

  • Ability to take a product need from an early idea through to a complete, implementation-ready design

  • Ability to simplify complex workflows without losing important functionality or context

  • Strong understanding of information architecture, hierarchy, layout, typography, and interaction states

  • Experience creating and maintaining scalable design systems

  • Strong command of Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, and prototyping

  • Experience designing responsive and accessible web interfaces

  • Strong product judgment and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working directly with engineers and reviewing implementation quality

  • Comfortable talking with customers and translating feedback into product improvements

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving startup environment

  • Curiosity about AI products and the future of software interfaces

Nice to have
  • Experience designing AI-native, conversational, or agentic products

  • Experience with analytics, monitoring, configuration, or operational tooling

  • Frontend knowledge, particularly HTML, CSS, or React

  • Ability to prototype interactions beyond static mockups

  • Experience working closely with engineering from initial requirements through release

  • Experience using AI tools for design exploration, prototyping, and iteration

  • Experience working as the primary or sole product designer at a startup

Additional context

This is a broad product design role covering both UX and UI. You’ll spend most of your time understanding product needs, designing workflows and interfaces, maintaining consistency across the product, and collaborating with engineering to deliver a high-quality final experience.

You’ll have significant ownership and autonomy. We’re looking for someone who can move comfortably between early user flows, detailed interaction decisions, polished interface design, and implementation review.

Why join Uniti AI?

AI is changing how software gets used.

We believe the next generation of software will revolve around agents, automation, and conversational workflows. The interfaces for these systems are still being invented.

You’ll have significant ownership over defining and delivering those experiences inside a fast-moving AI company solving real operational problems at scale.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
