What is JetZero? 

Today’s aircraft contribute around 4% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall. 

JetZero is developing a blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft. It uses up to 50% less fuel and will be built to accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

What You'll Do:

We are seeking a Senior People Business Partner (PBP) to join our People & Culture team. Based in Greensboro, NC or Long Beach, CA, this role will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, driving people strategies that enable JetZero to achieve its ambitious goals. The Senior PBP will partner closely with leadership, managers, and employees to foster engagement, strengthen organizational capability, and ensure JetZero remains a great place to work.

  • Strategic Partnership

    • Serve as a consultant and advisor to senior leaders, aligning people strategy with business priorities.

    • Provide guidance on organizational design, talent management, workforce planning, and succession planning.

  • Employee Relations & Engagement

    • Act as a trusted resource for managers and employees on complex employee relations matters.

    • Drive initiatives to strengthen culture, employee experience, and retention.

  • Talent Development

    • Partner with leaders to identify talent needs and support career development, performance management, and leadership capability.

    • Coach managers on building high-performing, inclusive teams.

  • Change Leadership

    • Support organizational transformation and change initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption and strong communication.

    • Champion JetZero’s values and ensure they are embedded in people processes.

  • Operational Excellence

    • Collaborate with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development to deliver seamless people programs.

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 8+ years of progressive HR/People experience, with at least 3 years in a business partner or strategic HR leadership role.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior leaders.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employee relations, and employment law.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or high-growth technology industries a plus.

Compensation: 

Our compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees. The range for the Long Beach area (Geo B) is $160,000 - $210,000 and for Greensboro, NC (Geo D) is $130,000 - $175,000.  We consider a number of factors when presenting a final offer, including geography, internal equity and years of experience and expertise.

The Interview Process

  • The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at JetZero. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field.  
  • Optional – Take Home Exercise: Our assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.  
  • The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.  
  • The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive and view JetZero from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more.
