Position Overview

MetroSys is seeking a highly experienced Senior Nutanix Solutions Architect to lead the architecture, planning, and technical execution of a large-scale enterprise infrastructure migration for one of our clients.

This individual will serve as the primary technical authority for the Nutanix migration initiative, responsible for evaluating the existing infrastructure, designing the target Nutanix environment, developing migration strategies, and providing architectural leadership throughout implementation.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Nutanix HCI technologies, enterprise virtualization, infrastructure modernization, and complex data center migrations. This is a hands-on, client-facing architecture role requiring the ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable infrastructure designs while providing direct technical guidance to engineering and migration teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical architecture, planning, and design of a large-scale enterprise migration to Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure.

  • Assess existing virtualization, compute, storage, networking, application dependencies, and infrastructure configurations to establish migration requirements.

  • Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance Nutanix environments utilizing AOS, AHV, Prism Central, and supporting technologies.

  • Develop the overall migration strategy, including workload assessment, migration sequencing, dependency mapping, cutover planning, rollback procedures, and risk mitigation.

  • Architect migration solutions for workloads transitioning from VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or other existing virtualization environments.

  • Define Nutanix cluster architecture, capacity requirements, resource allocation, storage configurations, network integration, and high-availability standards.

  • Establish technical standards, architectural documentation, migration methodologies, and implementation best practices.

  • Provide technical leadership to Nutanix Engineers and infrastructure teams throughout deployment, migration, testing, and production cutover activities.

  • Evaluate migration tooling, including Nutanix Move, and determine appropriate migration approaches based on application requirements and infrastructure dependencies.

  • Architect backup, disaster recovery, replication, and business continuity solutions within the Nutanix environment.

  • Identify architectural risks, performance bottlenecks, compatibility challenges, and potential migration issues before implementation.

  • Lead technical design reviews, architecture workshops, and migration readiness discussions with client stakeholders.

  • Serve as the senior escalation resource for complex migration, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure issues.

  • Collaborate with application owners, network architects, security teams, and infrastructure leadership to ensure successful platform integration.

  • Oversee post-migration validation, performance optimization, environment stabilization, and transition into ongoing operations.

  • Deliver architecture diagrams, technical design documents, migration roadmaps, implementation standards, and knowledge transfer materials.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, or data center architecture experience.

  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise Nutanix HCI solutions.

  • Expert-level knowledge of Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, and associated platform technologies.

  • Proven experience architecting and leading large-scale enterprise virtualization or infrastructure migration projects.

  • Deep understanding of VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and migration strategies involving Nutanix AHV.

  • Strong experience with enterprise compute, storage architecture, networking, virtualization, and infrastructure integration.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop migration strategies for complex production environments with significant application dependencies.

  • Experience designing high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions.

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure sizing, capacity planning, performance optimization, and scalability.

  • Experience leading technical teams and coordinating migration activities across multiple infrastructure disciplines.

  • Excellent client-facing communication, technical documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to balance architecture responsibilities with hands-on troubleshooting and implementation oversight.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Nutanix Certified Expert (NCX), Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional (NCAP), or equivalent advanced Nutanix certifications.

  • Experience leading enterprise VMware-to-Nutanix AHV migration programs.

  • Experience with Nutanix Files, Objects, Flow, automation, and cloud integration technologies.

  • Background supporting large-scale data center consolidations or infrastructure transformation initiatives.

  • Experience architecting multi-cluster, multi-site, or geographically distributed Nutanix environments.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.

  • Experience working in regulated or highly available enterprise environments.
