The Role:
This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the talent engine fueling a high-growth organization that is transforming the biotech industry. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining a global enterprise network. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in delivering secure, scalable, and highly available network solutions while ensuring operational efficiency and best-in-class performance.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Network Design, Implementation & Operations
Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPN, and network security solutions.
Research, evaluate, and recommend cutting-edge networking hardware and software such as routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances, remote access systems, and network management tools.
Lead network lifecycle management, including architecture upgrades, hardware/software refreshes, and decommissioning obsolete infrastructure.
Ensure global network availability and security compliance, supporting critical business applications, cloud environments, and manufacturing operations.
Performance Optimization & Network Security
Continuously monitor network performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
Partner with security teams to enforce network security best practices, including firewall configurations, access controls, IPS/IDS, and VPN security.
Define, evaluate, and approve network design and configuration changes in accordance with industry best practices and security policies.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with hardware vendors, service providers, and telecom partners to resolve technical issues and drive innovation in network infrastructure.
Interface with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and implement solutions that align with business objectives.
Provide leadership in network incident resolution, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and post-mortem documentation.
Automation & Documentation
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and configuration standards.
Drive network automation initiatives, utilizing tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform to streamline deployments and minimize manual configurations.
Global Network Support & On-Call Readiness
Support small to large-scale site lifecycling initiatives, including new office builds, expansions, relocations, and decommissions.
Participate in a global on-call rotation as Tier 3 escalation point, ensuring 24/7 support for critical infrastructure and fast response to network incidents.
Here’s what you’ll need (minimum qualifications)
8+ years of experience in network architecture, implementation, and administration within an enterprise environment.
Domain expertise in WAN, LAN, Wireless, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), VPN, OOB, Network Security – Firewalls, IPS, Secure Access, Network Access Control, Network Monitoring and Alerting, and Capacity Planning.
Strong technical knowledge of Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Cisco SD-WAN, Meraki and Cisco WLC Wireless, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto Firewalls, Juniper SRX and Infoblox DDI solutions.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a customer-first approach.
Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environments is a plus. If no prior GxP experience, the candidate should be capable of quickly learning GxP compliance and implementing best practices in regulated environments.
Demonstrated experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible) to streamline operations and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to independently drive small to medium-sized networking initiatives.
A passion for emerging network technologies, staying ahead of industry trends, and recommending innovative solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear documentation and executive-level reports.
Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent networking credentials are a plus.
Ability to foster strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
