Job Description:
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a customer-obsessed, analytically rigorous Senior Manager, Healthcare Media Planning to shape and execute the media strategy for our growing healthcare retail business. Based in Boston, MA, this role will translate business objectives and customer insights into integrated, full-funnel media plans that build awareness, drive consideration, and accelerate customer growth for our healthcare retail categories of Pharmacy and Vitamins & Supplements.
You will own media strategy and planning across channels such as OTT, paid social, paid search, affiliate, and emerging platforms. Working closely with Marketing, Channels, Finance, Analytics, and Creative teams, you will recommend how we invest, whom we reach, where we reach them, and which messages are most effective in order to drive our business and consumer objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with deep media-planning expertise. You know how to translate audience insights and performance data into clear investment recommendations, develop integrated plans for channel teams to activate, and identify opportunities to test new approaches. You are equally comfortable shaping a long-range media roadmap, evaluating media-mix scenarios, and using campaign results to guide future planning and optimization.
What You'll Do:
  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for integrated media supporting Chewy's healthcare retail business.
  • Develop full-funnel, omnichannel media plans that balance brand-building and performance-marketing objectives.
  • Recommend budget allocations across audiences, channels, campaigns, and funnel stages in partnership with Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and channel leaders.
  • Build and evaluate media-mix scenarios based on business goals, customer insights, historical performance, incrementality, and expected returns.
  • Use syndicated, first-party, and platform data to determine the most effective media channels, strategies and budgets to drive results.
  • Establish campaign objectives, KPIs, measurement plans, and learning agendas; translate results into actionable recommendations.
  • Lead ongoing optimization, testing, and experimentation across audiences, channels, creative, and investment levels.
  • Identify and assess emerging channels, technologies, and consumer behaviors that could improve media effectiveness.
  • Develop clear, persuasive recommendations and present media strategies, investment decisions, results, and tradeoffs to senior leaders.

What You'll Need:
  • 7+ years of media-planning experience within an agency, in-house agency, or consumer-facing business.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated media plans across brand and performance channels.
  • Strong knowledge of audience strategy, channel planning, media buying, campaign optimization, and measurement.
  • Experience translating customer, market, and performance data into budget-allocation and media-mix recommendations.
  • Hands-on experience activating or buying digital media campaigns, with a strong understanding of platform capabilities and executional requirements.
  • A record of improving measurable business outcomes through media strategy, experimentation, and optimization.
  • Strong financial and analytical judgment, including the ability to evaluate investment tradeoffs and communicate expected impact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional work, manage competing priorities, and move initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • A customer-first mindset, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to challenge established approaches.
  • Willingness to travel as business needs require.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in ecommerce a plus

The base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
