Job Description SummaryThe Senior Manufacturing Business Leader is accountable for end-to-end performance of a defined business unit within both business units in building 64, leading all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and sustaining lean operating principles and the FLIGHT DECK mindset within the value stream, developing people, standardizing processes, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
As Business Leader, you will lead components manufacturing for rotating parts supporting key engine programs including T700, F404, F414, and CF34. The position provides direct leadership to 8-12 salaried team members and has overall accountability for a total organization of up to 120 employees operating across three shifts in a unionized manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for aligning resources, building frontline leadership capability, and ensuring effective shift-to-shift execution to meet production requirements while maintaining strong labor relations, workforce engagement, and compliance with site, contractual, and regulatory expectations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees. This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.
  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing & Operation Management)
  • Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing & Operation Management experience

  • Strong background in lean manufacturing with demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement through FLIGHT DECK principles and daily management. FLIGHT DECK is GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model.
  • Experience in machining, rotating parts, or complex component manufacturing within a disciplined production environment
  • Preferred experience in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing, including work in highly regulated, quality-critical operations
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, standard work, and operational execution to deliver performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Proven ability to lead through front line leaders in a multi-shift environment, develop talent, and build a culture of engagement, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Strong people leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain
  • Deep operational knowledge of manufacturing processes, with the ability to lead process discipline, capacity planning, flow optimization, workforce alignment, and execution in a high-mix, high-accountability production setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make data-driven decisions, and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and executing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong planning, execution, and project management skills, with a focus on delivering results for customers and the business
     

The base pay range for this position is 136,000.00 - 181,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on July 6, 2026.
