The Role
The Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning is a member of the Fidelity Institutional Wealth Management Services (IWMS) organization and will play a key role in the ongoing development of the IWMS strategy and long-term strategic plan. The primary objective of this role will be to contribute to IWMS’s strategic planning efforts, overall business unit operating model, segment strategy and leadership of strategic cross-IWMS initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Manager will support analysis of industry trends, articulation of an overarching vision, identification of areas of business / investment focus, and development of a goals measurement framework. Your contributions will directly impact the efforts to grow, develop, and scale the business.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience; MBA preferred
- 3+ years of professional experience in consulting, corporate or product strategy, investment banking / venture capital / private equity, product management, and/or business development, preferably in financial services
- Proven ability to lead complex business cases, strategic initiatives, and/or analyses
- Proven ability to combine a strategic cross-business/client perspective with strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to “tell the story” and communicate complex information to influence executive decision making
- Outstanding critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability, flexibility, and resourcefulness to lead multiple high-priority, highly visible deliverables in an ambiguous, dynamic and deadline driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence others and build relationships
- Effective meeting management skills and ability to bring discussions to closure with consensus, action items, and accountabilities
- Confidence, business maturity, and presence to work independently and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization, including effectively interacting with and influencing senior management
- Ideal candidate has experience with wealth and asset management fundamentals and/or working with financial intermediaries
