Senior Manager, Technology Strategy & Planning

The Role

Fidelity is looking to hire a Senior Manager of Technology Strategy & Planning to join our team. This role requires strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to support the strategic planning and business management processes within the Data domain of Fidelity Technology. You will achieve results both as an individual contributor and by influencing others in a highly matrixed, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating Model & Business Management Routines: Partner with Leadership, Strategy & Planning, and Finance to support Data domain business routines and Technology Strategy & Planning routines (examples: funding reviews, position governance, staff meetings, operating reviews, leadership team meetings, alignment forums, executive updates).
  • Technical Program Management: Partner with Data leaders, technologists & architects on key strategic bodies of work in various phases (idea screen, business case, program delivery, retrospective); support cross-enterprise technology councils & associated working groups.
  • Domain Engagement & Communication: Partner across the Data Strategy & Planning team & Data domain leadership to drive best practices around associate engagement, learning strategy, rewards & recognition, communication, and change management.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of work experience in Strategy & Planning, Program Management, or a related area
  • Exceptional management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in project / program management; experience working with technologists a plus
  • Knowledge of data, governance, and/or architecture practices & capabilities a plus
  • Ability to acquire, synthesize and interpret program and project data into themes and storylines; ability to connect the dots across complex, enterprise-wide efforts
  • Experience in technology strategy, objective and KPI setting, tracking, and reporting
  • Ability to produce analysis and insights for the development and ongoing assessment of operational forecasts, objectives/KPIs, staffing strategies, and multi-year business plans
  • Ability to develop and influence relationships across all management levels, including leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and analytics experience that will result in key insights and solutions for sophisticated business problems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced situation and to handle stress; adaptability to rapid changes in information, process, direction, or immediate workflow
  • Ability to manage a range of tasks, balance multiple efforts & prioritize work independently, and meet deadlines
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and experience with tools such as Jira Align, PowerBI, and PowerApps a plus
  • Ability to balance multiple efforts independently; comfort with complexity and ambiguity
  • Six Sigma Certification is a plus

The Team

This dynamic team is a part of the Fidelity Technology Strategy & Planning function supporting the Data domain within Enterprise Technology. These teams are helping to lead Fidelity’s digital technology transformation and accelerating the adoption of technology and using innovative and Agile practices. This team is working with business and technology teams to define strategy and provide strategic technology direction and an architecture vision for the systems supporting Fidelity’s businesses at the enterprise level
