We’re commercially savvy, naturally collaborative, and intrinsically innovative—and we’re looking for a Senior Strategic Pricing Manager ready to make waves with us. 

This high-impact, fast-paced, high-visibility role partners closely with lawyers, clients, and colleagues across Finance, Client Development, and Legal Project Management. You’ll help shape and deliver pricing strategies that move us beyond the billable hour, improve profitability, and deliver greater value to clients. 

What You’ll Do:

Pricing Strategy & Execution 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to strategize, design, and implement pricing proposals, especially around alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), fixed fees, retainers, and value-based models. 
  • Build commercial, client-centric pricing strategies that are profitable and sustainable.  
  • Support live pricing requests, RFPs, panel submissions, and fee negotiations. 

Thought Leadership & Innovation 

  • Develop new pricing models and frameworks to move away from time-based billing. 
  • Create pricing menus, benchmarking tools, and cost models aligned to service offerings. 
  • Act as an internal advocate and trusted advisor for pricing transformation and innovation. 

Data & Insight 

  • Analyze historic matter data and performance metrics to inform pricing decisions. 
  • Translate data into actionable insights and compelling client narratives. 
  • Develop playbooks, toolkits, and self-serve resources for pricing enablement. 
  • Develop mechanism to measure adoption of recommended pricing approaches 

Collaboration & Relationship Building 

  • Partner with Legal Project Management, Finance, Client Development, and Practice Group leadership. 
  • Develop and deliver training/education to attorneys and clients on Goodwin’s pricing approach 
  • Coach lawyers on pricing best practices and commercial awareness. 
  • Build trusted relationships with key clients when needed. 
  • Be a people-developer, constantly seeking ways to coach and develop team members to higher levels of performance and excellence. 

Who You Are:

  • 5 –10+ years of experience in pricing, commercial strategy, or finance in a law firm or professional services environment. 
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguity. 
  • Strong commercial acumen with a passion for value—not just rates. 
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills (both written and verbal) with ability to clearly communicate ideas and results on all organization levels. 
  • Excellent ability to strategize, plan, execute, and manage change.
  • Strong analytical and business problem-solving skills with a flair for breaking down processes into logical parts and constructing crystal-clear reasoning, analyses, and insights.
  • A strategic thinker who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves. 
  • A desire to challenge the status quo—creatively, commercially, and collaboratively. 
  •  Drive, ambition, and initiative to help grow Goodwin's business.
  • Self-starter, highly organized and detail-oriented go-getter able to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel and PowerPoint

Bonus Points If You Have 

  • You have an MBA or equivalent graduate degree
  • Professional working experience in Business Strategy or Management Consulting firm
  • Experience building pricing models or leading pricing transformation projects. 
  • Familiarity with legal service delivery models including ALSPs, LPM, and tech-enabled solutions. 
  • Background in handling litigation or dispute resolution matters is a plus.
  • A sense of humor and a love of doing things differently.

The Target Salary Range For This Position Varies By Location And Is Commensurate With Relevant Experience: $147,000.00 - $200,000.00
