About Colombo & Hurd

Colombo & Hurd, PL is a nationally recognized immigration law firm dedicated to representing professionals, investors, businesses, and families around the world. Since our founding in 2006, we've grown to a global team of over 500 and we are proud to have been named the top immigration law firm in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal. We wholeheartedly believe in the philosophy of doing well by doing good, and we seek opportunities to provide service to our clients and our community by advancing the cause of immigrants.

About the Role

We are seeking an individual with exceptional financial modeling ability and strong problem-solving skills to lead our strategic finance function. The Senior Manager of Strategic Finance, a newly created role to support the firm’s growth, will own financial reporting and analysis, leading a team that produces it, and will serve as the analytical partner to leadership on the decisions that determine how the firm grows.

The role spans two connected areas. The first is the economics of client acquisition: what it costs to acquire a client across each of our channels, what that client returns over time, and where investment produces the greatest marginal return. The second is capacity: translating demand forecasts into staffing and workload plans, and determining the rate at which the firm can grow while maintaining the quality of its work. Together these determine how quickly and how profitably the firm can scale.

Underpinning both is the core financial work of the function: detailed revenue forecasting, margin and trend analysis, expense forecasting, and the financial projects that touch every department in the organization.

What You'll Do

Own financial reporting and lead the team that produces it. You will be responsible for the accuracy, clarity, and timeliness of the firm's financial reporting, including the monthly reporting package, management dashboards, and the analysis that accompanies them. You will lead and develop the analysts who produce this work, establishing the standards and processes that make it consistently reliable. Ownership of the relationship with accounting sits here as well, with an emphasis on finance-focused review rather than duplication.

Build and maintain the company model. Detailed revenue forecasting, margin and trend analysis, expense forecasting, headcount planning, and the long-range plan. Month-end analysis and its interpretation, not merely its preparation. Variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods, with root-cause explanation when results diverge from plan.

Own the growth economics. Build and own the customer acquisition cost model across our paid channels, accounting for efficiency curves, elasticity, and seasonality. Run the attribution analysis that explains why blended acquisition cost moves when it moves. Maintain acquisition cost, lifetime value, and payback economics by channel and cohort so we can see where our unit economics are strengthening and where they are compressing.

Make every marketing dollar a question with an answer. Build the capital allocation framework that guides investment across acquisition, re-engagement, and retention, grounded in marginal return rather than blended averages. When leadership asks whether the next dollar is better spent on a new channel or a deeper one, you are the person who knows.

Translate growth into capacity. Our work is delivered by people, and there is a limit to how quickly we can absorb new clients without straining quality. You will turn revenue and volume forecasts into rolling staffing and capacity plans, model utilization, throughput, and workload across our teams, and tell leadership how quickly we can grow without breaking something.

Understand where we earn our return. Build a rigorous view of cost-to-serve and contribution margin across our service lines. Cohort analysis on new versus returning client behavior. Where the business makes money, where it does not, and what that implies about where we point our capacity next.

Communicate it clearly. Prepare the financial communications that go to leadership and other stakeholders, tailored to the audience, and facilitate the recurring conversation about results. Much of the value of this role lies in making a complicated picture legible to people who do not think in financial terms.

What This Role Is Really Like

You would be building a function rather than inheriting one. Much of the data you need exists but sits across several systems that do not yet speak to each other well, so early on there is as much construction as analysis, working alongside our technology team. Nobody is going to hand you a scoped workstream every Monday.

In exchange, you get ownership far earlier than a larger organization would give you, direct partnership with our CFO, regular time with the executive team, a team of your own to build, and the unusual experience of watching your analysis change what a company does within weeks rather than quarters.

Why Join Colombo & Hurd, PL?

Practice finance with purpose. Our clients are researchers, physicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, investors, artists, and families building a life in a country they were not born in. We have secured more than 10,000 immigration approvals. Every model you build here is ultimately about helping more of those people, faster and more affordably.

Shape the future of a fast-growing firm. Join one of the fastest-growing U.S. immigration law firms at the moment when it is large enough to matter and still small enough to shape. The analytical foundation you build will define how the firm makes decisions for years.

Build and lead a team. You will own a function, set its standards, and develop the analysts who support it, with room to grow the team as the firm does.

Work across the whole business. This is not a role that lives inside a spreadsheet. You will partner with our marketing, operations, technology, and legal leaders, because the answers live in their data and the decisions get made with them.

Supportive, collaborative culture. Be part of a team that values innovation, precision, and shared success. You'll be supported by a robust infrastructure of team members and technology tools to help you do your best work.

Competitive compensation. We offer a highly competitive salary commensurate with experience and performance, plus a discretionary year-end bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

  • Roughly 3 to 6 years of experience, ideally including time in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or management consulting, paired with or followed by operational finance at a high-growth company
  • Exceptional financial modeling ability. You have built and maintained a full three-statement model and will be asked to complete a case study during the interview process
  • Demonstrated strength in producing financial reporting that is accurate, clear, and delivered on schedule
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the judgment to determine which analysis a question actually requires
  • Comfort with operational data, not only financial statements, and enough facility with tools to get at the data yourself rather than waiting in a queue
  • Expert Excel and PowerPoint; SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar is a meaningful plus
  • Strong grasp of unit economics, including the difference between marginal and blended
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. You will be in rooms with the executive team early, and we want your actual view rather than the safe one
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, a bias toward ownership, and comfort working in ambiguity across multiple workstreams at once
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business analytics, or a related quantitative field
