The annual base salary for this position ranges from $138,400.00 in our lowest geographic market to $327,200.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Leader who can Build, Coach, Drive and Encourage technology teams. This highly self-motivated Senior Engineering Manager needs to be comfortable with fast-paced DevOps environment and develop a vision and long-term goals for tech teams to serve our Nike's Technology. You will need to demonstrate your experience, knowledge of industry trends and personal creativity to develop innovative solutions which delight our customers. This role will help drive technical decision making and solutioning for the team as they build high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Payments solutions to drive Nike's Digital transformation and growth strategies.
What will you work on?

You will build and deliver the technical runway for existing and new technology capabilities to support high-demand systems within the Payments space. You will rely on your understanding of scalable, highly available, and consistent distributed systems to design world class solutions. Who will you work with? You will be directly leading software developers and other squad resources to effectively build, deploy and support applications that provide value for the business. As a successful Senior Engineering Manager, you will also work within the leadership team to partner with Product, Program and Architectural counterparts to navigate ongoing feature development. This role does require the candidate to interact with partners and interested parties in Nike's other offices and locations to coordinate, plan and ultimately deliver. You will report into the Senior Engineering Manager or Director for your capability area.

Being a leader at Nike, the Senior Engineering Manager is required to have outstanding communication skills for which to represent and speak for the team. It is also crucial to be able to clearly communicate industry best practices, implement the right technical trends and avoid anti-patterns.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in leading technical teams and come from a strong digital technology background (developing teams, building scalable, cloud-based applications).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical subject area or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Payment vendor integration and PCI standards is also desired.
  • Additional tech expertise required: REST, AWS, Java, CD/CI, Git, SQL and DynamoDB
