We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Select Business – Employee Benefits.

Overview:

Responsible for supporting and helping to build the small business/select function on our New England Employee Benefits team. Working closely with the EB Practice Leader, the incumbent will lead a team and related processes that will enable HUB to further enhance its ability to develop and commercialize customer-focused solutions in the select space. This leader contributes to a positive culture, promoting HUB’s brand internally and externally, while maximizing the strengths and capabilities of each individual and the organization. This role contributes to the Company's production, profit and revenue goals by effectively managing within the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and directs department management and personnel including, training, motivation, performance appraisal and salary recommendation.
  • Oversees the Select Business sales, service, and marketing process, for New England clients directly impacting Company revenue, expense, and market utilization goals.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of relevant insurance carrier trends, product offerings and compensation arrangements. This should include developing and maintaining productive and close working relationships with key executives associated with these insurance carriers and other relevant vendors.
  • Develops and maintains a strong knowledge of competitor capabilities, including their sales/service strengths/weaknesses relative to HUB’s. This should include identifying and gaining introduction to key individuals within other organizations who could fit the HUB culture and might be recruited at some point.
  • Identifies and address barriers to accelerating initiatives and opportunities to enhance execution effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance customer offerings through best practices and external trends or as business needs change. Execute on key initiatives to streamline day-to-day operations, create additional efficiencies, and implement third party programs to support operations.
  • Develops and executes a strategic plan to build appropriate pathways for Select Business by market/state as well as M&A opportunities. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (Producers/VP Operations/Leaders) to ensure a smooth transition of new business as well as ongoing superior service metrics.

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of progressive Employee Benefit insurance experience, the majority of which must be within an agency, brokerage, or consulting firm.
  • Demonstrate track record as a manager and leader who has successfully developed a profitable and well-regarded Employee Benefit insurance sales/service organization, with a proven progressive track record driving result.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

The expected pay range for this position is $100,000 to $180,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and commissions for some positions.

Required Education: High school or equivalent
