Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy.

As a key leader within the Business Technology Transformation team at Toast, the Senior Manager, Revenue Systems (RevPro) acts as the strategic architect of our revenue infrastructure. You will lead the charge in scaling and optimizing our systems to support Toast’s high-growth SaaS and fintech operations within a rigorous SOX-controlled environment. By owning the revenue recognition platform (Zuora RevPro), you ensure our automated accounting remains fully compliant with ASC 606 while enabling rapid expansion into new pricing models and global markets. This role serves as a critical bridge between Finance and technical teams, transforming complex go-to-market motions into resilient, audit-ready system architectures. Ultimately, your leadership will drive the evolution of our order-to-cash operations, ensuring Toast maintains its industry-leading trajectory with precision and scale.

A day in the life (Responsibilities)

  • SOX Compliance & Internal Controls: You'll ensure all revenue systems operate in full compliance with ASC 606 and SOX, owning the ITGC and automated revenue control frameworks in partnership with Internal Audit.
  • Technical Enablement: You will translate technical accounting policies into scalable system configurations, ensuring accurate SSP allocations, contract modifications, and usage recognition logic.
  • Process Optimization: You’ll identify bottlenecks in the order-to-cash lifecycle and implement automation to support high transaction volumes and reduce revenue close timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: You will act as a strategic bridge between Finance and technical teams, influencing senior leadership on investment priorities and managing third-party implementation partners.
  • Audit Support: You will serve as the primary systems liaison for external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.
  • Team Leadership: You'll build and lead a Revenue Systems function, establishing change management governance and developing talent for a public-company-grade environment.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

  • Extensive Experience: 10+ years of experience in revenue accounting or financial systems specifically within a SaaS environment.
  • ASC 606 Expertise: Deep technical fluency in ASC 606, particularly regarding subscription and usage-based business models.
  • System Mastery: Hands-on experience with Zuora RevPro (strongly preferred) or equivalent revenue automation platforms.
  • SOX Rigor: Proven experience operating within a SOX-controlled environment, such as a public company or one in IPO readiness.
  • Tech Stack Knowledge: A strong understanding of integrated SaaS tech stacks including Salesforce, CPQ, Billing (Zuora), ERP (NetSuite), and data warehouses.
  • Scaling Experience: Demonstrated ability to scale systems in high-growth environments (30%+ YoY growth) involving international expansion and complex pricing.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing high-performing teams and the ability to influence executive stakeholders.

What will help you stand out (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Professional Certification: Holding a CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Public Markets Prep: Specific experience supporting IPO readiness or maintaining public company compliance.
  • Technical Tools: Familiarity with automation, APIs, and data tools such as SQL or BI platforms.
  • M&A Expertise: Experience with M&A integrations and system harmonization.
  • Adaptability: A strong change management capability and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.
