Harbor is seeking a Senior Manager, Research & Technology Enablement to help law firm library and research departments get real value from AI. This is a client-facing advisory role. You will work alongside research leaders, librarians, and practice teams to understand how they work today, identify where AI can make a meaningful difference, and help them design, test, and adopt AI-enabled research workflows that their lawyers can trust.

A big part of the role is working with legal technology and content vendors on their AI offerings. You will get to know their products in depth, keep on top of what is changing, and act as a practical bridge between vendor capability and what clients actually need. You will also help build AI fluency within Harbor’s own research and intelligence teams so we can bring that expertise to every client we support.

This is a fully remote role that can be worked from anywhere in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada. Some travel to client sites and industry events may be required.

Responsibilities:

Client AI Enablement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to library and research department leaders on AI adoption, readiness, and responsible use
  • Lead discovery with clients, including stakeholder interviews and workflow mapping, to identify and prioritize the research use cases where AI will have the most impact
  • Design AI-enabled research workflows and agents, pairing each use case with the right tool in the client’s existing AI toolkit
  • Build in clear verification and human review steps so AI-assisted research meets professional and risk standards
  • Coordinate testing with client users, gather feedback, and refine workflows before wider rollout
  • Lead client presentations, demos, and workshops, and support proposal and scoping conversations for new enablement work

Vendor Partnership & AI Product Insight

  • Build strong working relationships with legal research and AI vendors, including product, engineering, and client success teams
  • Develop deep, hands-on knowledge of vendor AI offerings such as generative AI research assistants, agents, and workflow tools
  • Work with vendors on behalf of clients to clarify roles in workflow build, raise product gaps, and influence roadmap fixes
  • Track and translate vendor product updates into clear, practical guidance for clients and internal teams
  • Represent Harbor at vendor briefings, partner programmes, and industry events

Training, Adoption & Post-Launch Support

  • Develop and deliver AI training for research teams and lawyers, including live sessions, quick-start guides, how-to videos, and office hours
  • Create repeatable launch playbooks that help clients roll out new AI platforms with confidence
  • Provide ongoing support after go-live, filling the gap that vendors often leave after initial rollout training
  • Help clients measure adoption and value so they can show the return on their AI investments

Building Harbor’s AI Capability

  • Lead AI and platform training for Harbor’s research and intelligence teams, from foundational skills to advanced use
  • Develop internal guidance on the responsible use of AI tools in client work
  • Capture what we learn from client engagements and turn it into reusable methods, templates, and service offerings
  • Contribute to Harbor thought leadership on AI and the evolving role of research and knowledge teams
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), JD, or other relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Significant experience in legal research, knowledge management, or information services within a law firm, professional services, or corporate legal environment
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI legal tools such as Harvey, Legora, CoCounsel, Lexis+ AI, or Westlaw AI-Assisted Research, including designing or testing AI-enabled workflows
  • Deep familiarity with legal and business research platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law
  • Proven experience in a client-facing advisory, consulting, or service delivery role, with the confidence to engage partners, department heads, and innovation leaders
  • Experience working with vendors on product implementation, feedback, or partnership programmes
  • Strong track record designing and delivering training and driving adoption of new technology
  • Ability to map processes and translate how people work into clear, practical workflow designs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technology in plain language
  • Strong project management skills and comfort managing multiple client engagements at once
