Job Purpose

As a Senior R&D Procurement Manager in Clinical Services, you will be accountable for a category of outsourced services needed for GSK’s clinical trials:

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers that secure favorable terms for procurement of goods and services contracts in line with the agreed business requirements

  • Ensure that business requirements are clearly defined and supplier performance management is in place to deliver value to GSK

  • Lead strategic review with in-depth category knowledge

Details (Your Responsibilities)

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Accountability for end-to-end management of the Medicines Specialty Labs and Companion Diagnostics categories

  • Business Partner to multiple functions within matrixed R&D organization

  • Establish contracting strategy for the Medicines Specialty Labs and Companion Diagnostics categories with appropriate resource allocation

  • Lead sourcing events and data-driven negotiations to deliver on the business requirements

  • Lead relationship management with key Specialty Labs and Companion Diagnostics suppliers

  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the GSK culture and R&D priorities

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of category management experience in Global Procurement or equivalent function

  • Experience developing project plans and leading complex negotiations

  • Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or consumer goods industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Advanced Degree in Business Management, Business Operations, Mathematics or Science

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in leveraging AI to simplify daily ways of working and drive efficiency in business processes

  • Ability to analyze and present data in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to balance priorities and work independently

  • Ability to engage and influence senior leadership with limited direction

• If you are based in Cambridge, MA; Waltham, MA; Rockville, MD; or San Francisco, CA, the annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges $113,850 to $189,750. The US salary ranges take into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
