Welcome to the Agentic Commerce Era

At Commerce, our mission is to empower businesses to innovate, grow, and thrive with our open, AI-driven commerce ecosystem. As the parent company of BigCommerce, Feedonomics, and Makeswift, we connect the tools and systems that power growth, enabling businesses to unlock the full potential of their data, deliver seamless and personalized experiences across every channel, and adapt swiftly to an ever-changing market. Simply said, we help businesses confidently solve complex commerce challenges so they can build smarter, adapt faster, and grow on their own terms. If you want to be part of a team of bold builders, sharp thinkers, and technical trailblazers, working together to shape the future of commerce, this is the place for you.

We are looking for a hands-on, process-driven Senior Manager of Marketing Operations to help build and scale the infrastructure that powers marketing performance at Commerce. This role will focus on executing and optimizing key systems and workflows that support lead lifecycle management, marketing attribution, data quality, and ABM programs.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Tech Ops/IT, Analytics, and Data Solutions to ensure the integrity and performance of our tech stack—while partnering closely with marketing and sales stakeholders to deliver operational excellence.
Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to build consensus across teams with competing priorities, and a solutions-first mindset. You don't just identify roadblocks—you bring ideas forward and make them happen. We’re looking for someone who brings strategic thinking and systems-level awareness to the table—someone who can see the bigger picture, propose improvements, and support the long-term vision, even if not directly accountable for setting it.

What You'll Do:
  • Operate and optimize components of our marketing tech stack, including Marketo, Salesforce, 6sense, Zoominfo, Segment.io, Integrate.io, sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, Sales Engage), Dynamic Chat, and more.

  • Support lead routing, scoring, and lifecycle workflows across SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments

  • Collaborate with the Analytics team to build marketing dashboards and support campaign performance reporting and funnel visibility

  • Contribute to ABM initiatives powered by 6sense through segmentation, intent data usage, and target account list operations.

  • Maintain data governance and compliance protocols in partnership with the Data Solutions team

  • Partner with Tech Ops/IT to support integrations and troubleshoot issues across connected platforms

  • Drive continuous improvements in marketing systems, reporting, and automation, contributing strategic ideas that enhance scalability and performance

  • Manage and continue to develop a small team of Marketing Operations Analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, performance feedback, and daily priorities

  • Bring forward solutions to process challenges—owning delivery and execution with a can-do attitude

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations in a B2B SaaS environment

  • Hands-on experience with several components of our tech stack: Marketo, Salesforce, 6sense, Zoominfo, and related platforms

  • Strong understanding of lead management, marketing data flow, and performance tracking

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners in IT, Data, or RevOps.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively

  • Excellent communication skills—able to collaborate with technical stakeholders and translate insights for marketing use

  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach—you take ownership, follow through, and help move projects forward even amidst ambiguity

  • Experience supporting ABM programs and using 6sense or similar intent platforms

  • Exposure to CDPs or data orchestration tools like Segment.io

  • Familiarity with data privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA)

  • Prior experience working in a matrixed or global marketing environment

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
