We are seeking a strategic and analytically driven Senior Manager, Commercial Analytics to help shape business decisions and drive profitable growth across our Commercial Lines portfolio. This leadership role partners closely with senior business stakeholders to deliver meaningful insights, monitor performance trends, support strategic planning, and influence key decisions that impact business outcomes. You will combine advanced analytical expertise with a deep understanding of commercial insurance products, underwriting considerations, market dynamics, and profitability drivers. You will translate complex data into actionable recommendations and communicate insights effectively to executive and business leadership.
You will report to a VP, Product Analytics.

Position Compensation Range:

$131,000.00 - $220,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Lead performance analytics and reporting for a diverse Commercial Lines business portfolio.
  • Provide strategic insights that support growth, profitability, and operational decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting, business reviews, and performance monitoring dashboards.
  • Analyze business trends, identify emerging opportunities and risks, and recommend actions to improve results.
  • Support business planning, forecasting, and product strategy initiatives through data-driven analysis.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure analytical insights are aligned with business priorities.
  • Guide and prioritize analytical work across multiple initiatives and business partners.
  • Drive a culture of data-informed decision making by transforming complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Works with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.
  • Leads implementation of product development or product management changes. Includes other corporate stakeholders for opportunity identification, enterprise service linkage, vendor management, and research. 
  • Oversees product research and insights gathering and analysis including competitive intelligence, customer empathy, develop pricing models and analysis and innovation methodology.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting facts and data, including financial information, in a way that can lead to actionable conclusions.

  • Demonstrated experience communicating to a variety of audiences to review findings, arguments, options, risks, benefits, and other issues in a frame of reference that the audience can understand.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving to results in one or more of the following areas: sales, product lines, claims, or other core business functions.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading large complex projects or programs with a cross-divisional impact toward intended results.

  • Demonstrated effective experience leading people or projects.

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis and processes.

  • Demonstrated experience developing insurance product strategies.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in product management and/or development with a focus on profit and loss.

  • Solid knowledge and of market research and marketplace and regulatory trends.

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of product design and product management.

  • Solid knowledge of and experience with advanced financial and data analysis techniques.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25%.

  • Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week.  This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth.  At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

We will expect you to work 10 days per month from the office in this hybrid role. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110;
