Job Description

Position Summary:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as Senior Manager, Global Market Development within the Industrial Filtration business. In this leadership role, you will lead a global market development team responsible for translating customer and market insights into commercial growth. You will develop market strategies, define value propositions, support commercialization, and drive adoption of filtration solutions across priority industrial markets.

Working in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment, you will partner closely with Product Management, Commercial, Marketing, R&D, and Sales teams to identify growth opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and enable successful product launches. This role combines strategic thinking with execution and requires strong leadership, business acumen, and customer focus.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Strategy & Commercialization

  • Lead a team responsible for developing market strategies across key customer segments, applications, industries, geographies, and adjacent markets
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through customer insights, voice of customer research, market sizing, competitive intelligence, and industry trends
  • Partner with Product Management to support portfolio strategy, new product introductions, and commercialization planning by providing market insights, customer requirements, and opportunity assessments
  • Define customer value propositions, positioning, messaging, and commercial strategies that clearly differentiate Thermo Fisher's industrial filtration solutions

Go-to-Market & Market Activation

  • Develop and execute global go-to-market strategies for new products, application expansion, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to deliver customer-centric campaigns, sales enablement programs, and demand generation initiatives aligned with business priorities
  • Support development of sales tools, customer presentations, application content, training materials, and competitive positioning that improve commercial effectiveness
  • Monitor commercialization performance and recommend improvements based on campaign results, customer feedback, market trends, and adoption metrics

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global market development team while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate across Product Management, Commercial, Marketing, R&D, and Sales to align market development strategies with business objectives
  • Build relationships with customers, channel partners, industry organizations, and key influencers to strengthen market awareness and identify emerging opportunities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture by translating market insights into actionable strategies that accelerate business growth

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in market development, strategic marketing, product marketing, commercial strategy, product management, business development, or related commercial roles within industrial filtration, industrial technologies, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, or related B2B markets
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success developing market growth strategies, commercialization plans, and go-to-market programs for technical products
  • Experience conducting market segmentation, customer research, competitive analysis, and opportunity assessment to identify growth opportunities
  • Strong understanding of value proposition development, positioning, customer journeys, and commercial enablement
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and deliver results in a global matrix organization
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and project management skills

Preferred

  • Experience supporting filtration technologies, process equipment, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor, food and beverage, chemical processing, water treatment, or related industrial markets
  • Experience supporting new product launches and global commercialization initiatives
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, commercial analytics, and marketing automation tools
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% globally

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or business required
  • MBA or equivalent experience is highly preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $125,000.00–$175,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
