The role:
The Senior Manager of Global IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the company's global IT infrastructure and operations. This includes oversight of Network Operations, High Performance Computing, Security Operations, Cloud/Server/Endpoint Management, and Helpdesk Operations. The role emphasizes business relationship management, advanced technical expertise, and the implementation of automation technologies. The successful candidate will excel in managing hybrid infrastructures that integrate on-premises systems with outsourced services, ensuring high-quality service delivery and alignment with business objectives. This position is based at our Ipswich, MA headquarters.
How you’ll contribute:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for global I&O that aligns with business goals and fosters technological innovation
Build and maintain strong relationships with business units and scientific community to understand their needs and ensure I&O services are aligned with business priorities
Develop and manage the I&O budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with strategic priorities
Establish and manage relationships with external service providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and performance
Work closely with CISO and Director of IT to Implement and monitor robust risk management practices to protect the organization’s infrastructure and data assets from threats and vulnerabilities
Build and lead a high-performing I&O team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth
Required qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
12+ years of experience in infrastructure and operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Demonstrated expertise in business relationship management and stakeholder engagement
Extensive experience with cloud platforms (primarily Azure) and on-premises infrastructure
Strong understanding of network architecture, virtualization, and storage solutions
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost optimization
Ability to align IT strategies with business objectives and drive value through technology
Experience in negotiating and managing vendor contracts and partnerships
